I honestly don’t get why people mount their towers high up on the wall. Rip

    I have a similar case, I would cry 😭

  2. Kinda like how hunters put their kill up on the wall for all to see

  3. blackest-Knight

Same reason people do everything else that’s completely idiotic. They saw someone else on the net and wanted to follow the trend.

If done properly, it’s not an issue. It keeps the heat exhaust above you. These babies get hot!

I think it’s just that they are proud of the machine they built and are showing it off, like an IRL achievement, nothing wrong with it.

Works better if you don’t use a flexi tv arm on a tiny plate though.

Always see videos online of people hanging shit in drywall without going to studs. I’m assuming this guy watched one to many of those videos

  8. SlowReverseBeeping

If you’re going to attempt a setup like that, you need to know your wall has studs and you need to make sure everything is in a case which can be securely fastened to those studs.

Guy likely drilled straight into the drywall and didn’t use any sort of anchors on his screws.

Investment in that many expensive computer parts.. and that much money.

But they buy wall- plugs that don’t stand nothing at all!
    Amazing.

You ofc need plugs.. no. Anchors attached to the wall, any you need many of them.
A computer is heavy, you must know that, if you lifted it up on the wall before you let go of it thinking that those Aliexpress plugs made of melted children’s- old toys don’t stand against that weight. You need stronger plugs and it also comes down to what type of wall it is you hanging your computer on.

Well nothing can people think of in advance any more.. it’s like the older the civilization gets the more stupid we get

  10. It frees up all that desk space and looks like the dude wants that really clean look. Unfortunately he probably didnt anchor his case into studs properly and used some tiny swing arm that was made for a tiny TV.

hurts me when people don’t use a stud finder, man i seriously learned that you have to mount stuff from the studs when I was 8 do your research please 😭

  12. it works great if you’re not a fucking idiot and know how to mount stuff to the wall

  13. joodontknowme

I love that case, I have it myself. I’ve had it for about 7 years. Very versatile, never worry about cooling, and like you did. It really should be called a “Display Case”.

Off topic, but still about the picture…

Am I the only one who can’t stand all the RGB lighting everywhere? I hate when I buy stuff like speakers, mice, keyboards, even my fucking monitor! All of it has RGB and I need to turn that shit off, it drives me nuts and just looking at the lighting in that picture is starting to give me a headache! Thank God my PC case has none of that shit. The LED strips in the corners of the walls too, WTF man!?

Anyway, at least it appears he mounted his monitors right. They had to have taken the hit from the case falling on them and they are still standing lol. Too bad he didn’t put that much effort onto mounting the case properly.

I can sorta guess why, I have a similar triple monitor setup and there’s no room on my desk to put my pc in a prominent/visible spot.

  16. Dizzy-South9352

it was an old trend. back in like 2007-2010. no one does this anymore.

  17. RexorGamerYt

This made me lol. This is definitely someone who’s never had a PC or bought a pre built or custom built because no sane person would do that. Might as well hang it above your head with spaghetti

  18. KaptainKapowski

In my opinion, having the system positioned like that, especially with the lighting and such would be too distracting for me.

  19. MyPizzaWithPepperoni

It’s just darwin awards, it looks ugly but you know.. social medias happen. Like a near to 10KG tower that geats plenty of heat is going to be properly attached to a wall.

  20. CplSaveAHo

It’s not the elevation, it’s the poor mounting.

  21. Ronyx2021

See this needed to be in the stud. Possibly in 2.

I don’t get why people have them on their desk either. Unless it is one of those small SFF things (Like a small Optiplex) or pizzabox case, it belongs *under* the desk imo.
