Both games were a let down for me. Outer Worlds didn’t have much for exploration and Starfield is a game of constant loading screens, but I agree with one Redditors who said that they put more hours into Starfield. Wait for either to be on sale for cheap and they’ll be worth playing.

Outer Worlds had a more coherent story. You’re not floating through rooms chasing sparkles ✨. Outer Worlds has some memorable characters and missions and the setting has memorable “dungeons” versus the clearly algorithmic world of starfield. Plus it’s more focused. It’s like 8 planets with some having 2 separate settings. Not dozens with fuck all to do and you walking around or fast traveling. Outer Worlds doesn’t have space combat but the character and stories make up for it.

I got outworlds for free when the Epic store had it for free during the Xmas sale.
It was some of the most fun I had in game in a while, I was really thorough and beat the game without even fighting most bosses. Just talked them out of it… it’s a really great RPG.

unpopular opinion incoming, let the downvoting begin: The Outer Worlds SUCKED. it wasn’t open world, the RPG elements practically nonexistant, there was absolutely no spaceflight, combat mechanics shitty, no third person perspective, art direction infantile and the story laughable. you can tell the people who made FNV had moved on long before this atrocity was spawned. what a colossal waste of time and effort, not to mention money. comparing these two games is like comparing apples to oranges.
