I noticed that the Corsair Hydro X series water locks are on an insane discount at Microcenter. Does anybody know why? I was considering picking up the Intel CPU block for how cheap it is, but is there a reason that they’re so cheap? Has anyone ever used one of these?

Microcenter runs crazy deals. Usually they are in store only and they use it as a way to get you in the door. Speaking from experience, it’s a great tactic. Walked in just to buy a new case and walked out with a case and $300 worth of fans

It could also be that no one is buying them from there and they need to get rid of them

  3. Maybe they want them out of inventory because they are getting new Corsair LINK stuff in?

They are crap, like most of corsairs water cooling supplies. They feel cheap, and make from flimsy plastic. No where near as nice as other water blocks available.

they leak unless they fixed them jayztwocents did a video on them

  6. My guess would be new stuff coming out this year that is directly compatible with their new LINK system and in order to prevent confusion of cross purchasing incompatible products, Corsair has given the ok to do a massive clearance

Clearance of old stock most likely.

Microcenter is reputable, so I wouldn’t worry about it.

They probably just overstocked. Custom watercooling is rather niche, so they’re probably not selling very well. And that GPU block will only fit a couple of specific graphics cards, not even all 4090s. And how many people actually own a 4090? It’s a small slice of a small slice of a small slice of owners. (People that own 4090s, people that own the MSI trio model of 4090 specifically, and people that want to do custom watercooling).

There’s only 1-2 left of each, they’re making room for new product.

Don’t go with Corsair for your cooling. Get any other brand BUT Corsair.
