Hello, I am about to upgrade my PC. I love to overclock my hardware, the second I get my hands on the 14700K I will immediately get into overclocking it.
I have this ancient 1000w modular corsair PSU that has served me well for over a decade, and it’s time to upgrade it.
So since overclocking will be important, I heard the PSU matters, and I’ve found a good deal on a new one, but is it good?

I don’t entirely understand the transient response graphs, though I heard it was important.

As longs as it is a quality psu and has enough power for u, u wont notice a difference
I recently had to replace my aging EVGA 1250 PSU due to tripping it after extreme overclocked with my red Devil 6950zt and 5950x. Both water-cooled.
I got the Corsair HX1500i. It is working very well no more crashing or black screening.
I honestly even being a long time overclocked did not realize the sheer wattage I was pulling with the overclocking and all the other components, fans pumps, nvme drives, mechanical drives and so on.
With Corsair driver installed and Icue link cable I can really see the power draw. I was hitting over 1000 watts.
While most people barely recommend just slightly over what online calculators recommend, I in the minority of saying you need a high quality overkill PSU.
Just think about it, off all your components the PSU is the only thing that can take out every component at once. Unlikely but still.
The PSU is the heart of your entire system. It is one thing to never skimp on. They last for years through several generations.
Oh I forgot to mention as far as I remember now EVGA no longer uses Seasonic in their PSU but a couple of different vendors.
Just verify if you go that route. It is why I looked at others when I started having issues. I have used EVGA psu’s for forever until recently.
While all my EVGA psu’s are Seasonic they were manufactured before EVGA switched vendors
I’ve never had any issues with the bequiet dark power pro line, just recently upgraded from the dark power pro 11 1200w to the dark power pro 13 1600w
