So as you can see we have Erangel,Livik and Sanhok with the the event mode Shadow Force but what you’ll notice is that there’s no switch option for normal Erangel,Livik and Sanhok. That’s because those normal mode maps are in the random map pool option which is the fourth mode option next to Sanhok.
In the random map option you have all 7 normal maps no event mode and NO option to select a specific map like Vikendi or Mirmar. Now the reason for this is simple to REDUCE THE WAIT TIMES and get FASTER MATCHMAKING. I don’t think I have explain just how long getting a match can be when your playing non-event mode or any map other then Erangel,Livik sometimes you’ll never find a match other times when you do find a match it ends up being a bot lobby it sucks. You waited 6min just to kill bots.
So with this image how will it help ?
Well if the idea becomes a reality we could potentially:
-REDUCE THE WAIT TIMES.
-Faster Matchmaking
-Get Consistent matches on all 7 maps with 99% real players and less bots well HOPEFULLY. No more funneling all the players to Erangel all the time.
-Encouraging more players to try out the other maps. E.g if the match pool puts them in Mirmar or Vikendi maps that in most cases you could never find a match( at least from my experience). This is also good for new players looking to rank up in maps other then Erangel and Livik all the time.
-The likelihood of getting a new BR map maybe. If we were at a point where the matchmaking was good PUBG could slowly roll out a new map see how players perceive it. If the general consensus is positive towards the map they can add it into the rotation of the random map pool maybe.
How will the random map pool work?
Erangel,Mirmar,Sanhok,Vikendi Livik,Nusa, Karakin repeat. The main focus is ensuring no player plays on the same map over and over aside from the event mode maps.
What about Unranked?
Unranked can remain as it is with the opition to select any map you want I guess.
What if a player leaves a match because they got a map they don’t like?
Considering that it’s ranked there should be a more strict approach to players leaving a match in progress. Deduct rank points lower Merit and a 3 min timeout from playing any ranked map. Look at what Cod mobile is doing in their game you can’t select any map you want instead there’s map voting. Map with most votes gets chosen leaving the match because of the chosen map will result in deducted rank points and a 3 min time out from playing any ranked mode. So take some notes PUBGM.
Even if they don’t consider this I’m sure they’re other alternatives out there but this is all I could cook up. Really just wishing they do something.
