looks like the actual pcb isn’t huge. time to watercool it.

OP is “his friend” and he posted this hoping somebody would give him some offhand advice on how to make this work.

The case saved this poor gpu from this “bomb has been planted” kind of psu

  4. Careless-Tradition73

you could get a PCIE riser and mount it going up?

  5. I really don’t understand why people buy small cases. It’s a PC. It ain’t moving around often so the weight and size shouldn’t matter. Why not just get a full size and never worry about anything? Better airflow too. Even my friends in Japan got full towers and their entire homes are the size of an America bedroom.

Just buy a new case, or return the gpu for a smaller one

A normal problem, nothing that a metal saw hasnt fixed a hundred times.

  8. Idk, it looks like it will fit if you can make some clearance. Does the case come apart at all?

  9. Amrootsooklee

What about slicing a part of the gpu heat sink instead of the case??

Fits perfect just remove front panel 🤣🤣🤣

Good thing the case is the cheapest component to upgrade

  12. I did something similar on my last upgrade. I have a coolermaster Haf 932 and just assumed that I couldn’t buy anything that wouldn’t fit in it. Got caught out with AIO being a 3 fan. It fits, but not perfectly, one of the fans is slightly covered.

Jokes aside if use pcie extender put GPU vertically (cutting case a bit). It should work

The static buildup from socks on carpet can’t be good though, right?

  15. reladent

Did the same when upgrading from a 1660ti to a 6800XT. Got myself a new case and solved the problem

  16. quityourjobb

Ouuf and now he has to wait for the new case

  17. Icy_Boss6053

Case looks similar to one i once bought for 30€ for my backup rig.

Was so small i had to hammer the sidepanel outward so it wouldnt collide with the cpu cooler haha.

  18. TheVoidNull

Did the same with my watercooler… had to get a bigger tower 🤣

    Just make it fit

Well if that isn’t the funniest shit I’ve seen this morning

  21. TTVControlWarrior

He would need a bigger case unfortunately
