How about 2004: Halo 2, Half-Life 2, Metroid Prime 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, World of Warcraft, GTA: San Andreas, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2, Counter-Strike: Source, Killzone, Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal, Everquest II, The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, Jak 3, Need For Speed: Underground 2, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines, Spider-Man 2. That should be at LEAST top 5.
1998 & 2007 are definitely the standouts – they both represent true generational shifts in games, both the game mechanics, IPs etc, as well as tech platforms too: 98 was when 3D accelerated graphics really came into their own, 07 is pretty much the year where everything just looked good in perpetuity. And there are so many genres not even referenced in this video (you can't talk about 1998 without mentioning the peak of Flight Sims for example) I'm glad GS didn't just focus on the last couple of years with this vid
