Damn those tiny plugs…

  1. There is s new Standard for the Frontpanel connectors, which combines them into one single connectors. Think it was Intel doing so now. Stumbled upon that while trying to rebuild my system in a new Case.

I think it depends on the case manufacturer because on my NZXT case it’s a single connector.

Lian Li has a separate connector for these lil buggers. Makes it a lot easier.

I think it’s more up to case manufacturers. They have to consider the small amount of older or even OEM mobo that has non-standard FP pinout, the same reason why new PSU still comes with molex.

Once they deem there’s no more old mobo with nonstandard FP, then they can unify the pins into 1 single connector.

They have a standard… JST If you want to you can unify them yourself, even into a single plug.

  6. Im just happy they label them. I remember reusing old oem cases and cheap mobos that dont come with a manual or ones i salvaged from old hand me down pcs when i was a kid in the late 90s and nothing had labels and there would be more plugs than places to plug them in on the mobo. I would just fine the two pins that when jumped off would start the pc and either leave the side panel off and jump it everytime or figure out which pin worked the power and just plug that in. Although i will admit there might be a couple of times i found the reset button instead and just used that to turn it on.

MSI Velox 100r has a single point connect as well.

You could make just one plug that covers everything.

Did a build in a Lian Li case recently, and they were all combined into one connector.

I am planning a new build that would be my first ever build and I am lil scared of those cables and the USB 3.0 connecter but it is what it is
