Hi guys, I was pulling out the 24-pin from my motherboard after Bios flashback and saw this little metal ball next to it.
I don’t know if it dropped from the cable, if it got detached from the motherboard..
Are you able to identify it? Shall i return it or it’ll keep working well, whatever it is?

it’s probably just a ball of solder. It’s definitely not an electronics component or something your computer needs to run.
Solder ball. Probably from MOBO manufacture. Pretty shitty QC right there.
That’s definitely a solder ball. There’s a few possibilities as to how it got there. Firstly, it could have been leftover from the manufacturing process and was just stuck somewhere. The second option is that a component failed and melted all the solder off.
That’s a motherboard pearl. They’re super rare and worthless.
Is it in a case with fans? Might be a bearing from 1 of those or your CPU fan?
It’s just a ball of solder, seems to have fallen from the machine and stuck, nothing to worry about

It is a load bearing bearing. Your card will no longer be able to support itself and fall apart /s.

Now this is normal, when a machine of your age reaches maturity you might find things start to change; Balls drop, FPS drops, Dust in places youve never seen before.
Just remember we will always love you
That metal ball holds your Bios. If you can’t get it back in the Bios Ball Holder then just set it on the Motherboard and rock the motherboard around until it gets stuck in somewhere and as long as you post you’re okay.
You can’t RMA a Motherboard without your Bios Ball
Save it for when you may need to fix the board.

I used to actually work at Denso, and the line I worked manufactured the pcb and entire infotainment system on honda and Acura Cars.
I ran the pcb portion a lot where we would solder components to the boards with machines that essentially did it. When they ran through the process and were done, you needed to inspect for defects and solder balls like that, while uncommon are definitely a likely manufacture defect.
You could give your pcb a thorough looking for any weird solder defects to be sure. Otherwise just toss it.
