GPU Undervolt

Hi, couldn’t find any subreddit dedicated to undervolting so i try to get help here.

I own this GPU : https://www.asus.com/motherboards-components/graphics-cards/phoenix/ph-gtx1660s-o6g/ It’s the hottest model of gtx 1660 super (86 celsius under load, stock)

    other specs : cpu i5 10400f , 16gb ram

After I undervolted half a year ago my max temperature are 78-79c max when playing heavy game like rdr2 with uncapped fps and optimized video settings.
Other games I play are CS2(75c max), League of Legends (48-50c max) Witcher 3 (somewhere in the mid 70’s).

also GPU on idle is always under 35c (3 fans in the front, 1 in the back)
I own the pc for almost 2 years.

But yesterday I started questioning my undervolt settings after I downloaded and played game Firewatch so im again little bit paranoid (its under 2€ on steam right now btw) .

Within half an hour of playing Firewatch my gpu got to 80-81c. Is that normal for a game like this? Settings are set on high and uncapped fps.

Since i set these undervolting settings half a year ago I didn’t have any crash, only thing i noticed is that i probably have memory leak when playing rdr2 in vulkan API, so i had to switch to DX12 which gave me less fps but more stable, but it shouldn’t have nothing to do with undervolt.

I remember when i was undervolting i was using Heaven benchmark ( i know its not the best app but i reached the best score with undervolt i have rn)

My fan curve is not very aggressive as i dont like very noisy fans. Im able to accept anything under 80c but i was just suprised that game like Firewatch got my GPU to higher temperatures than game like RDR2 .

Im also adding a screenshots of my settings and I would like you to tell me if I have undevolted correctly.

Is it possible that Firewatch is that much demanding game?

Should i reduce voltage even lower? or should i keep the voltage but raise core clock? Or are my settings set correctly and it’s simply that the game just runs hot on my pc?

I’ll try to play around with the in-game settings, in the meantime, i’ll appreciate any advice 🙂
TLDR : higher GPU temperature when playing Firewatch than RDR2 ; are my undervolt settings set correctly?

I would open + repaste before doing anything else

Instead of traditional paste, try Gelid Heatphase Ultra or PTM7950 or similar knockoff from aliexpress
