Full size for life. I need my numpad. I also wouldn’t mind a few macros but I prefer a lower profile keyboard. I currently use a Cooler Master MK750. Love that thing.
I mean, IDK if I really need 50 billion keys like that but having at least a full size keyboard and a few macro keys would be sick
That is way to big for me and my desk, also I never use a num pad the only thing I miss with a 60% layout is arrow keys.

It really depends what you use the keyboard for. If you only play fps games, 60% is just fine and usually looks a bit cleaner. For work tkl or a full size usually will do depending on the nature of the work, and for some games you want a keyboard with 500 buttons because all of the keybindings you have to set.
60% keyboards are so stupid and its so annoying that so many keyboard pcb’s with the features i want are 60%

I don’t ever use the numpad, so even a regular full sized keyboard is just kind of pointless for my use case.

I use a 60% works fine for light typing and Gaming. Keeps a bunch of room open for my mouse

I used to have an old gen K95 with macro block that had 18 keys, and a numpad. I loved using it for productivity, but the numpad really got in the way of the mouse, so I was constantly moving the keyboard around left and right, depending on what I was doing.
Eventually I bought a southpaw full-size keyboard with numpad on the left side. That was one of the best QoL upgrades that I had in years. First of all, it’s way more convenient to use numpad with left hand when your right hand is on the mouse. Secondly, you have a perfectly placed block with extra keys for gaming. And I have the convenience of TKL that leaves more space for mouse.

You use all of those buttons anytime you sit down to play a game? If not then that’s exactly why people have compact keyboards. I don’t need a million buttons, 75% of which I’m never going to touch except for maybe in one particular game.

No. It’s not a trend, it’s people realizing there’s no sense is having a bunch of space on your desk wasted by keys you never use. By all means if you need them or work or study, but I have 65% and still have a few keys I’ve never touched
