I can still do that if I put my phone directly on top of my USB audio interface

You little piece of ****! You made me look at my smartphone while I was scrolling on reddit and waited for an incoming call which never came.

    Take my upvote xD

Imagine what mobile phone do to your brain if they do this with speakers !

  5. SomeJerkAtWerk

Oh, they still will just who the hell calls anyone anymore?

My big old box tv when I was a teen did a similar thing. It would crackle and make sounds like that anytime my step sister texted someone from her dads old phone.

  7. AejiGamez

Im too young to get this, can someone explain?

  8. Erling01

I just unlocked memories I had long forgotten

amateurs… I could ear other people’s phone calls through my speakers

That sound dredged up a whole heap of feelings, and not good ones.

Comm expert here. That’s your GSM cellphone “checking in” with your nearby cell tower—it can be just before a text or call or just periodic pings. Also, a toroid core (mix 43) with at least 6 winds as close to the speakers as possible will filter it out. Avoid the clamp-on ones—they’re not very effective.

Mine picked up a local rock station. Real real low so it would have to be on but nothing else playing on them.

  15. My dad user to have a really old tv that bugged out when the phone was about to ring

I had those speakers. AOE wololololololo

  17. My speakers did this!

I also found out one night when I got back up to play on my pc when my mom went to bed that because I turned my speakers down low af, at that particular volume they picked up some weird ass radio channel at 1am. Freaked me the fuck out the first few times as I’d hear barely audible talking going in while playing games cos i’d not know where the fuck these disembodied voices were coming from lol as I’d turn the speakers backup to hear the noise and it’d disappear so I thought my brain was playing tricks on me during my late night gaming sessions 😂

Damn… I remember spinning my friends out for a few days on Xbox by ‘predicting’ that a certain one of them had a message…. That is until the penny dropped and they realised my ‘predictions’ followed this noise, coming from one of their mics, like clockwork.

Found out recently GTA IV makes the same noise if you’re in a car with the radio on and about to get a call. Thought it was a bug but instead is a cool little detail.

  20. Wirexia1

I was play GTA 4 and the car’s speakers did the little interference lol, I forgot this was a thing and didn’t notice it going away

  21. FestiveSquidV3

This happens in GTA 4 as well when listening to the radio in game. You’ll often hear this sound a few seconds before your phone rings.
