I hope not. I really liked they way they told the story in 2077, and how they respected the player’s free will to be an active participant in story scenes. It’s made me low-key frustrated with games that use cutscenes to tell their story.
Okrumbles
i hope not tbh, i like how immersive dialogue in CP77 was, cutscenes (aside from important moments) would ruin that
Shieree
I wanted cutscenes like they did in the first gameplay trailer
Glittering_Deal_205
Simple way to please all players who want different things is to add the option to go first person or third person.
osingran
I hope not. I was very skeptical about first person perspective at first, but honestly some of the most iconic scenes like you hiding in Yorinobu suite, Royce stuffing gun in your face, Oda entrance and so much more – they just won’t work in third person. CDPR did a very clever job with a camera: they limit your field of view and ability to rotate it, they subtly focus it on important thing, there’s a careful framing in important moments. So, technically there’re cutscenes – it’s just they are hidden well enough. And I like it because it really gives a unique perspective on storytelling. My only fear is that CDPR will misjudge initial lukewarm reception of Cyberpunk 2077 and decide to change first person to third person and thus abolish one of the most distinct features of Cyberpunk.
Yorick257
There might be a couple to do something dramatic but otherwise, I hope they’ll keep the current system. I loved to walk/look around during the dialog. It made so much more immersive
TownNo1856
I wouldn’t mind the occasional cutscene with a perspective switch, specifically for big story moments but I think most cutscenes should stay first person, it’s part of the game’s style and completely taking that away would feel like the devs are sacrificing their artistic vision to appease audiences
trasimach
I just realized that this game doesn’t have a singe cutscene in it, though it fully felt like a cinematic experience. W O W.
I would not want cutscenes that break the FPV, as it would break the role playing aspect, which in this game is amazing.
RhinoxMenace
sure fucking hope not
MorenaLedovec
no please, i think that this fpp only without cutscenes makes the game supreme
tinkitytonk_oldfruit
Fucking hope not. I love how the cutscenes are done in cyberpunk. The immersion is unlike anything else and you really feel like you’re talking to them and a part of these characters lives.
QueenCobra91
like you can watch your character from the outside interacting? nah man. the way they made it in 2077 is peak. never change a running system!
Ljutnja
No. CP1 already did well with in-game cutscenes. CP2 will simply improve on its graphics.
No-Performance-1185
That could be cool.
JesusSamuraiLapdance
An optional third-person view would be nice but not necessary. I don’t want cutscenes though, aside from the way they were implemented in the endings of the first game.
I don’t necessarily want to see my V in whatever stupid ass outfit I’m wearing in cutscenes anyways tbh
Over_Owl_5742
Sucks we can’t see ourselves most of the time IRL, just when we get into the bathroom and stare at the mirror. Or, when we take a selfie.
And god knows I would be able to drive much better if I could see myself driving in third person.
Oxen_aka_nexO
I hope not. I hope they keep the formula roughly the same for the next game.
PrestigiousAd2717
I kinda hope so just not a whole lot. I recently rewatched that original gameplay demo from 2018 just to see how much the game had changed from then till now. It seemed like they planned to feature more 3rd person cutscenes than just the endings, and I gotta say I actually like that idea bc you get to see your character more. I can see how too many cutscenes could ruin the immersion, I really liked experiencing everything in first person but I think having 3rd person cutscenes for certain moments would be cool.
neuropantser5
yeah i love making a cute and stylish v and then literally never seeing them outside the inventory screen. no cutscenes for me please, not ever!
unbeatable_killua
Yes, i would like to have cutscenes in cyberpunk 2. While first peson cutscenes were a nice idea, they ultimately were a downgrade from cutscenes. Cutscenes are a powerful tool for getting you immersed into a story if done right.
CDPR has mastered cutscenes in witcher 3 and this is why missed them in cyberpunk.
ZeptusXboxPS
I like the whole first-person experience, only thing they should improve is put the POV at the character’s eye level rather than chest level. So no, I wouldn’t like cutscenes or a 3rd person view.
Infamous_Campaign687
Cyberpunk does have cut scenes. Lots of them but they are in first person and blend nicely into the rest of the game. And it really works.
ChuckChuckChuck_
I love what they’ve done with the first person view even during “non-playable” parts, it’s like hidden cutscenes that you are part of, but I would love to see V.
Maybe take the camera seamlessly out and in during some moments? Like elevator rides, activities in your apartments etc. Keep the perspective 1st person, but from time to time in less immersive moments float the camera to remind us what our V is wearing. I think it can be done.
luxar94
Sure as hell hope that they won’t, there shouldn’t be cutscenes in videogames, the purpose of the whole thing is that it’s an interactive experience, you can have an awesome and really well thought and written story without relying on them, this game is proof of that
Nnamz
Hope not.
northwolf56
I agree a few 3rd person cutscenes or action clip would be nice or maybe 3rd person cover shooting. But 100% 3rd person would be a huge step backward.
MinervaXN
CDPR please do not make it third person, every aspect of the game (combat, cutscene, interactions, dialogue) much better in first person. Just stick to first person
TheAmazingSG
I still want Cyberpunk to be first person
But it would be amazing if I can toggle to 3rd person in free roam
northwolf56
3rd person QTEs like diving for cover or something would be preem. Just enough to see your avatar being badass.
No_Truce_
Nah, they did good without third person
svenbreakfast
Especially since the outfit system I only ever ride bikes
Reaper-Leviathan
I hope not tbh. There’s third person mods and camera mode for getting a good look at V. I prefer the ‘playable’ kinda cutscene where it’s just the half-life style ‘characters talk to you but you still have free movement’
renaiku
I loved the 1st person view when looking at the person talking, then turning my head to johnny, then johnny looking at me, make a weird face and look at the sky, and watch back to the other npc.
I loved it.
the_pathologicalliar
I wouldn’t mind it tbh, there’s cutscenes in Cyberpunk 2077 where first person was the best option, like with the Arasaka Heist mission, but idk overall the immersion just doesn’t really hit me much. The story beats and emotions feel a bit less effective when you’re basically just some hands with a voice tbh.
Negative_Possible_21
Honestly I wouldn’t mind a less immersive experience if it meant we got decent third person cutscenes and the ability to run around and see our character do cool shit
fingerpaintswithpoop
I hope they do. Don’t go overboard and do it like Spider-Man 2, and make the game an interactive movie with combat sequences sprinkled in. But i would love a couple third person cutscenes that allow me to see my character.
Spider3810
I hope they won’t
MrBobstalobsta1
Idk I’m not a dev
NAS210
I fuckin hope so. I’m fine with the game being 1st person, now that I’m used to it and notice the immersion it brings. But no cutscenes is definitely a big downside. I hope that they at least have them for story missions in the next one, not being able to ever see how badass your character looks makes the clothing and customization feel useless.

Hope so

Do not abbreviate cyberpunk
