For me it’s just perfect. You get to explore both sides of the world and even V have a more complex personality when you get to choose the corpo dialogues it exposes the way V still have a corpo in him. Plus I really like the “fallen angel” type of story and imo it fits more into a cyberpunk genre story.
UrMyTrigger
Streetkid suits V best imo. Growing up on the streets of Haywood suits them, as they then become a merc starting from Haywood as he became friends with Jackie.

Street kid
Admirable_Deal6863
Definitely Streetkid. Night City is the main character of the Cyberpunk franchise so having a main character that was born and moulded by its streets is very fitting.
By the same token, V’s dream of becoming a Night City legend doesn’t really fit the other life paths, whereas it’s easy to see how a child of Heywood would look up to the legends, understand that the price for that status is paid in blood, and accept it and work towards it regardless.

It’s hard. I’ve always been a Corpo fan and still think I am. It gives you many different views on the world and the whole idea of you being so high above the world literally in the AV and getting knocked to the rock bottom solidifies not only your malice against corpos but establishes your determination and skill as a character. I also debate it has some of the most badass lines out of the three life paths.
Nomad is probably my second favorite since I like the whole style of a lone wolf trying to find their place. Even when you were with Jackie you were still the Nomad. An outsider to night city still. A lot like how Panam was when she left the aldecaldos. Plus it has the really interesting lines. Especially around vehicles and the principles Nomad V has with Family and the clan.
Street kid is no offense very boring to me. All I really get is that they know the streets really well and hate Corpos. If you wanna go with probably the most cliche start as well. Even the motivations are the most cliche for the street kid since they wanna rise to the top but I feel like it’s pushed even more with their lines. However I do like the fact they have a better knowledge about the streets especially when they have lines about where they’re from and can probably relate the most with a lot of the characters in the game especially Johnny.

Street Punk.
It gives V some tangible roots and establishes how they seems to know so many fixers within months and explains a lot of their motivations. Franky I feel the main story of Cyberpunk reflects the Street Kid lifepath more than the others as well. The Nomad content is nearly restricted to Panam’s arc and there is virtually almost zero Corpo based quests.

Corpo = Badass/Disrespectful
StreetKid = Fuck! All in, i dont give a f***
Nomad = Meh… i dont care… my family…. 🙁
As a character V, street Kid is by far the Best.
Aggravating_Court485
I think street kid was my first choice and suits the story but I must say I also think nomad fits well the whole I left the bakkers because they were bowing down to corps and unifying and he goes to night city to show everyone he can be free and make a name for himself. But night city as we know chews people up and spits them out.
ZishaanK
I’d say it’s corpo. V and Johnny’s dynamic is just fucking epic. Both of you have been fucked over by Arasaka and the revenge is personal for both of you.
UltraSuperDonut
Female Corpo feels like lore.
Johnny find himself not only in a corpo body but also in a female too. He’s the hard rocker boy and V is the thoughtful person which thinks twice (most of the time) before run dumb into any situation without plan.
Must be disgusting for him everytime we choose the corpo dialog option.
Yes Streetkid has the best beginning because it makes sense to start another day and already being in the bar Jackie belongs to.
It’s not a just throw you in the story.
as Corpo, having Jackie as an contact and ears on the streets also make kinda sense.
(Nomad beginning makes no sense at all, Jacky had to cross the border to meet us and then he is surprised by the amount of guards when we enter???)
DraculaNine9
Corporate is my favourite but street kid makes more sense I guess
Unrelenting4444
Definitely Corpo.
Valuable-Ad-6379
Corpo. Now during my second playthrough I’m a Nomad and it’s cool but ngl, I do miss being a corpo. Nomad is the best when with Panam and the Aldecaldos imo.
Bro1212_
Corpo only because Jackie and V have been best friends for a long time.
Old_Bunch_7413
Im going to be completely honest rn. They all kinda suck besides corpo but even then that one isn’t perfect in the way that V is just streetkid after the prologue outside of a couple dialogue options. I hope they fix it in the next game.
ShitassAintOverYet
Corpo scenario actually suits so well.
Nomad scenario doesn’t make sense because being a nomad is a lifestyle, it’s like throwing a person from Bumfuck, West Virginia and then expect them to be an OG. Sure they can shoot guns but they won’t fit right in.
Street Kid doesn’t have the issue of not fitting in but it feels kind of weird to me that V who grew up in Heywood, knows Padre well and hangs around at El Coyote Cojo doesn’t know about Jackie. Also Street Kid V adds no depth to the main storyline because all the Arasaka politics cause either confusion or rage on them.
I_poop_deathstars
Street kid for male V and Corpo for female V.
AltruisticDealer4717
Corpo V honestly, for the following reason:
1. Corpo V and Jackie has the most deep bound than other life path, know each other been a while.
2. Corpo V know how the corporation work, so talk about the rebellion of the Corpo, she’s dialogue often can cut to the chase.
3. After the Act1, The whole plot is all about sabotage the Corp, u need the person who understands how they operate, for example like the arasaka industrial park infiltration, Corpo V’s way had the biggest chance to work, other life path’s method are all too dangerous.
5. Because the 3, things like negotiations, Corpo V also had better chance, because these things she must done a lot during counter Intel.
6. The whole PL plot is almost build for Corpo V, is the most fit in life path among three, she’s a spy herself, and talking to person like Solomon reed and myers are basically all Corpo, this life path just perfect.
But i get it why dialogues outside the PL seems to be awkward for Corpo V, because this game doesn’t have the individual dialogue for each life path, so if those dialogues put it on other life path, it’ll be outrage.
So they choose a middle ground, a street kid story, but the difference between Corpo and other two are too big, so it’ll always feel awkward.
Popkhorne32
It really does not matter as you end up being a street kid anyway.
AuburnMandate343

Treyman1115
Streetkid or Nomad makes the most sense due to Vs naivety.
Corpo V justifies why V is so OP better
V always kinda felt more like a Streetkid generally though most of the time. Don’t think any of them do that well with Jackie though

I like all 3 of them for different reasons. So it’s fun to go though the comments and relate to everyone :p

Do life paths affect much? I chose street kid because to me your starting off on the street and slowly rising through the story to become a famous merc in night city
ExotixFlower
Corpo.
From riches, to rags, to riches again.
kaistyle2
The game feels like StreetKid was the main fit for it with Corpo being second. If I could have had it my way, then I would have loved to have it where my Nomad V rolls into NC, does all the stuff in the story, chooses DFTR ending, and then be given the option to either stay in NC or LEAVE with Panam and her people to search for a cure. Especially if it factored in whatever we did in PL as well into the equation.
Just hope the next game might give us more to work with and extra routes to take, especially if we could alter the story more than what was offered at key moments.
HasbeyTV
I think street kid doesn’t make sense. V is a nobody until story starts, even good old Jacky kicks his ass with the first carjacking job and then becomes a god tier mercenary in about 6 months? Doesn’t make sense to me…
Corpo V kind of makes sense because he was already somebody in the night city. Being right hand man in Arasaka counter Intel is sure impressive. He loses augments which explains being weak at the start and getting stronger later. However story is told like V doesn’t know who is who in the night city and that also doesn’t make sense. I understand that storytellers have to explain certain story elements to the player who doesn’t know anything about night city but corpo V should know those things.
Nomad V makes perfect sense to me. An unknown element. High potential but nomad family kind of restricted his growth. When he gets to the big city, he is challenged constantly which explains his growth. This also goes pretty well with the Panam romance and nomad ending.
TLDR: Nomad V
Taliyah--
Street kid. It doesn’t make sense how every fixer in town seems to know V even if they were a corpo or nomad who just started getting into the merc life.
