This is something that seems to have gotten more common in recent months. I get messaged constantly after games getting called names for proning in bushes or hiding in tall grass with a ghillie or whatever else. Yes. That’s what ghillies are for. And I’ve had the fortune to \*finally\* get in games with streamers so I have some stuff to watch on PUBG Report now and I get to see it first hand! It’s more amusing than frustrating, of course but the fact remains I don’t understand the mentality of some people. “Oh, I lost because the other person wasn’t playing how I think they should in order to make them an easy kill” is the best I can come up with.

Yes, some of us play like snipers. Snipers camp. That’s what they do. To quote a wise droid “He made a fair move, screaming about it can’t help you.” We each play to our strengths and we each make our own fun. If you want to run around like it’s an arcade shooter, that’s perfectly fine! If you get the drop on me doing that, that’s great! I won’t cry that you weren’t hiding in bushes like a real PUBG player. You do you honey-bun.

What do you think? Is there a “Right” way to play PUBG? Is there a wrong way to play? What happens when someone beats you using the “wrong” way?

We rotate team leaders. Whether it’s a hot drop, or a hangout at the edge of the blue. Vehicle, no vehicle, who drives. Whatever. Your round, you call it. We’ve been a team since the test servers, it helps keep things interesting.

*Hard agree with the above post. Cheating is the only wrong way to play

It’s battle royale. The point is to be the last person(squad) standing. There are multiple ways to accomplish that goal. One of my favorite wins was one where I didn’t fire a single shot or kill a single person. I just lucked out on all circles and final placement. I always laugh at the people chasing kills early on in game. Good for you, you got 10 kills but died before the final 60.

Whatever makes the game enjoyable for you.

With that said… i dislike everyone who kills me and I hate the way they play.

I think if your team is dead, youre a solo etc camping in a bush or whatever is ok. But there are times where i get shot by 4 kids strategically sitting in bushes, all different angles. That shit is pathetic honestly. I am talking about ranked gameplay.

I’ve been in a squad where we all get shotguns and hide out in the same tool shed/bathroom waiting for some poor bastard to open the door. Good times.

i think the point of a BR is to survive and win the game. i don’t think snaking puts you in a great position to win against someone with a decent amount of skill. might land a few stealth kills but that’s really it.

the only time i get bothered by a play style is late in the game if a team is behind the blue, has a choice to attack you or get in safely, and goes for the attack only to obviously expose themselves to the rest of the lobby. at best they’ll cheese out a kill on your squad and then die themselves. just makes no sense when there’s an opportunity to get in safely and go for better placement.

  7. The right way to play is to make it to the last circle and hopefully get that chicken dinner.

Depends if your just playing hide and seek and not actively helping your squad I think those players should be team killed but if your hiding and taking shots like a sniper then it’s all good I can’t stand when a guy in a squad will have the drop on a team has perfect position to take them out with a grenade or can drop 1 or 2 guys so the other team mates can rush and just hides

There is no right or wrong way IMO in duos and solos. I generally play aggressive in both of those modes early and timid/smart late game. I don’t drop messages or hate on people when I die though, that’s kind of lame lol that mentality is about as beta as it gets. In squads though, if your team pushes and you’re the odd man out sitting 150 meters away in a bush it is the wrong way to play and you’ll probably get reported just out of spite. Oughta just be solo queue at that point because you ain’t getting the blue chips back and 9/10 times aren’t gonna win a 1v4. That’s about the same as the random that parachutes across the map on no mark after the trio marks a spot or the guy that pushes a team alone then screams in the mic for no help lmao. I hate being squad leader so I generally just follow the boys around. Playing aggressive ends more often than not with a wipe or losing a man or two at least because there’s a lot more aggressive players in squads/duos you go against. In the end, it’s just a game and most of us aren’t pros or have 100+ viewers on stream so it doesn’t mean anything other than frustration😂

    Anything goes in BR.
    (Accept Cheaters)
Rare a streamer will say well done.
I’m always called a rat. So I’ve embraced it.
Fact is most streamers play more and have better gun play so to beat em you need to mix it up!

If you enjoy sitting in a bush or in a bathroom for 30 minutes, you do you lol

  12. Zestyclose_Lynx_5301

When theres players level 300+ and apparently dont have kids and a mortgage u bet ur ass im going to camp wherever i have to to possibly get the drop on them. If i got in constant gun fights id have 0 wins

  13. I recently crawled 1000 or so meters to hide in bushes at the last circles in Rondo’s rice paddies after my squad got themselves killed and dc’d immediately. I went from bush to bush picking off players from the remaining teams. Eventually they caught me but I popped smoke and crawled to another set of bushes to heal and fight on eventually knocking the last of 2 then getting killed for 2nd. Do what it takes to place.

  14. NerdDad502

I play the same way. As if I was in a real battle for my life. When I first started playing 6 years ago, I would crawl around on medick across a field to pop a shot at the two guy firing at each other and wait for the prevailer to heal so I could pop up and spray him hoping for a kill.

Now, when I am playing in squad now a days, I am a bit more aggressive, but When I am playing solo matches, I camp, crawl, creep and crouch. I pay the long game patient, stealthy and methodic. IDontGiveAFuq if people send me hate mail or not. I usually try to get them to curse then report them to XBox. I speak from experience after I was team killed.

  15. mikefet91

There’s no wrong or right way to play. If everyone played the same way it would be boring. For example, a COD team death match, everyone just running and gunning and slide canceling. Stupid and boring.

  16. Mindless-Can-2353

I have spectated people crawl like 5 meteres away from full teams fighting on ranked ( GG Morales, you are the king ) also have played with guys who do not even crouch. There is no right way or wrong way to play this game, everything is allowed in war and love, only dinners are important.

  17. Easy-Tonight-2221

I play solos aggressively (try to get to 5-10 kills so I’m having some fun) until the top 10 then camp like crazy and actually avoid gun fights!!

Goal is to save those nades for the final 2 lol and secure the win. It’s hard to heal from a fight in the top 10 without getting killed.

  18. Daxaconda

If you’re seeing a PUBG Report and they’re crying because they died to you, just know they are almost always hypocrites. They do the same shit they cry about.

Play to your strengths and fuck every one else.

  19. Chineselight

The true meta (for squads) is to kill as many teams as possible if you’re all skilled shooters and have IQ. The reason being is that it eliminates the likelihood of you getting third partied later on when the circles crunch and there is less playable areas. As an example, if there’s no aggressive teams clearing out the lobby, there’ll be six playable spots for ten teams.

  20. ManiTheManiacc

I haven’t gotten a message in a loooong time. Maybe because you play tpp?

  21. Literally got myself a 2 kill win to start 2024 because like OP, I prefer to wait out the lobby. I played this way back when Erangel was the only map, played this way all during the WarZons days, and I will keep playing this way on Rondo because I it’s the strategy that works best for me and that I enjoy. If I can unalive a human or a bot from 200m or 300m away as I’m moving, cool. If I can unalive 5 or more in one game, I consider it a really good game and that’s the high note I’ll end a day / night on.

The only thing I frown at is people getting into a BRDM and then just camping inside it all game driving around trees because they’re trying to splat someone. But I agree with everyone else who’s said it; the only truly wrong way to play is cheating.

  22. Reasonable_Gap_7756

Laying in the bushes taking shots is playing the game. The ones I don’t understand are the ones that land, grab a shotgun and sit in a bathroom for 25mins, just to blow away the first person to walk through that door. I play duos, once they get first kill there is literally no back up plan, my teammates killed them and got my blue chip within 30 sec.

Each to their own, but it sounds boring AF

  23. bustafreeeee

I’ve always thought the best part about PUBG is how you play is a reflection of your personality

So play it however you see fit. You want to hide in a bush, hide in a bush. You want to drive around in a car and crash into teams and die, do that

  24. manofmanynames55

The right way to play PUBG is any damn way you want.

  25. I respect a group of players that don’t take puck shots at people 500m away to reveal our location at any given times lmao
