Yes but the price aspect and the anti consumer aspect of making them so hard to repair or upgrade.
My Lenovo T530 thinkpad is so easy to take apart even a layman could do it. Plus the actual service manual aka the hardware maintainence manual is available online too all, for free. Everything on it is user replaceable down to the tinest or largest parts. Macs are the polar opposite of this.

The issue I have with apple is they are one of the worst for rights to repair and my buddy had one where the screen was cracked but everything else worked when he used the hdmi port. He sent it in for repair but they came back with a quote for 1.2k, I believe he bought it for a thousand, and it came back not being able to turn on afterwards since he obviously didn’t have that kind of money. Even though it worked fine before. I’m too scared to get screwed over to buy from them honestly

Probably a given here but I really was shocked how poorly a MacBook runs anything. Flash games would cause it to heat up like a frying pan and freeze

Last night my girlfriend discovered that she couldn’t play portal 2 on her m1 macbook despite it working on her previous computer several years ago when she last played the game. It took so much restraint to not be incredibly annoying about it as someone who hates apple stuff to an arguably irrational extent

My new M3 16″ Pro for work is amazing. Just touching the thing is a pleasure. It even plays about 200 of my 850ish steam titles including Civ and Total War titles. Still doesn’t replace my main rig at home, but hot damn its a sleek piece of luxury tech.

For what I need, it’s ideal. Long battery life for software development and performs great for the apps I use. However, the price is insane for what you’re getting.

macbooks are one of the few things apple does well, obviously the price is still going to be a lot more than other comparable laptops, but they still are very functional as productivity laptops. But apple needs to stop trying to force its users to have a macbook AND an ipad, and just make macbooks with touchscreens or even make them convertible

Terrible right-to-repair. Terrible interoperability unless secluded to Apple’s proprietary ecosystem. Terrible price-to-performance ratio unless you purchase used. Good battery life and pretty Apple logo.

I have a 4k/144 rig at home, a work windows lenovo ultra book, a work MacBook air M2, and a work iPad Pro.
My company insists IT gets better versions of tech, which I don’t mind at all, obviously.
I love My PC.
My windows laptop is a tiny little beast that never hesitates or lags no matter what I do.
The macbook air might be the sleekest, most usable computer I’ve ever used. Brush the print reader, unlocks. Fanless and silent. Heavy, sturdy case for its size. Can open the lid with one finger.
The iPad pro? It’s as good as any tablet in existence. It’s so powerful that you’re literally handicapped by Apple, forcing it to “be a tablet” while the new Mac pro is a 27″ iPad on a fancy stand.
Don’t even get me started on the iPad as a 2nd screen. Didn’t even have to set that up. My laptop already knows wjat side the iPad is on and it turns into a 11″ monitor.
Why did I type this all?
There are no bad computers when you spend enough, lol.
I hated Macs when I used a PC every day and had used one 15 year old Mac for 40 minutes in my whole life.
(My boss does not know the worth of a dollar. Pls don’t tell him thx)

I loved my MacBook Air. It was useless for gaming but I loved it for everything else. I used to use my gaming pc for gaming and mh Mac for everything else. It’s been effectively replaced by my iPad otherwise I’d buy another one
