I would honestly love if we had more decals or artwork on components instead of just throwing a diffused RGB strip on everything.
I’m assuming it’s not nearly as worth it to sell a bunch of different designs to cater to everyone’s tastes, or have one product that 80% of people won’t give a second thought because it doesn’t match their current build.
The companies can just sell one with RGB, and one without. Most people will be happy
Although, this is giving me some ideas for upping the presentation of my PC, I’ve always just gone with full black, but now that I’m sharing a gaming room with my boyfriend’s rainbow puke PC, mine is starting to feel a little basic

It’s a niche product.
Benign_9
Last time asus made a cool looking, colourful motherboard, there was a spelling mistake in it.
Casper-Birb
It looks bad
YoungBlade1
Colorful motherboards just don’t sell like the used to. Back in the Bulldozer/Sandy Bridge era, there were lots of boards with heatsinks in different colors. But once ARGB became a thing, everything went to either black, black and silver, or white.
Love it or hate it, RGB is the current, popular way to add color and style to a system. So boards like this will just have a niche market.

There isn’t one competent designer working at Asus or MSI or their boss is just a horrible person, they’re not allowed to come up with beautiful shit.
rainbowroobear
i really miss the days when i could just buy a non-rgb set of components, in a case that was made of metal on all sides in a nice inconspicuous colour. then once i put in my cooling system, it just sat completely quietly in the background and i forgot it existed despite working on the keyboard, mouse and monitor.
Did something similar with my PC, albeit with a poster and sticky backed plastic because it’s more durable than hydrop dip and cheaper but hydro dip would definitely look nicer
Strange-Scarcity
Whoa.. is it the 1990’s again?!?!?
That looks like someone went back to grab aesthetics of the 1990’s.
KeepingIt100forLife
Because they already make up most of the market share and don’t need to splatter paint on their boards to grab some 14 year old kids attention?
SpaceGator3000
Ugh yes I’m so tired of all black and all white builds. We’re all making the same thing over and over again.

The orange one looks like my toilet after slamming Taco Bell for breakfast and lunch.

Cause it looks bad?

It’s stupid. It’s super niche. And it adds cost I don’t care to pay.

I prefer my MB to work don’t really care what they look like.
I prefer my MB to work and don’t really care what they look like. lawlessly. I purchased 1 Asrock board and shit was broken out of the box. and
JwintooX
As someone who has worked with PSR (the colouring on the main board) this looks like a fucking nightmare to mask off for each colour
mindaltered
that looks extremely ugly so im kinda glad they arent
ObamaTheThroatGoat
i hate it how pc parts that are any other color than white cost 2x or more and way harder to obtain . It cannot be that expensive to put some color on a mobo
Xclsd
Because it looks like shit?
arkane-linux
Because most people are only interested in buying black and red unicorn puke.
I really go hope that components with proper artwork eventually catch on.
pillpoppinanon
asrock is awesome snd fairly priced
XWasTheProblem
Obviously beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I’d imagine it would be pretty hard to match them with the rest of your hardware, considering it’s all black and white nowadays.
ecktt
ASRock has taken over MSI for understanding what the market wants and giving it to us. Want an edge lord SK8 looking motherboard, here you go. Don’t want to pay for RGB, they have you covered now. Want a solid midrange board for under 200, they have that too. Want an absolute budget option not completely devoid of expansion, they are the gotos.

PenguinsRcool2
I think they are hideous, i hate to look at them but cool they have the option. MSI would NEVER; asus, maybe. Asus has brighter options. Also people have been painting motherboard heatsinks on their own since pc’s were made lol. Gigabyte also has always had a colorful board option.
dalq
Cause it looks tacky as fuck
Disastrous-Rips
With RGB lighting being still ‘hot’ having aggressive colors on your parts would clash easily if you chose a color that doesn’t go well with your parts. Also this feels like a product for kids who don’t have a lot of money so I don’t think these would sell very well. I don’t think an adult who can afford it would go for flashy fortnite stuff you see in the image.

It was quite hard to find a board with some colors in it , i found one (Asrock b550 extreme4) wich have some blue here and there but its was expensive and i noticed that to have colours in your board you get a really cheap one or a really expensive one but not in the middle.

I want a Capri Sun themed one!

Because we are supposed to look at the screen, not inside the case
DasGhost94
A wet look on pc parts. Im sure that, that is smart.
sephris
Oh, they will, if these become successful, to grab their own piece of the pie.
Thisisthelasttimeido
Money.
For the <10% of the market that wants this, there is not enough margin to make your money back on machine setup to do this coloring.
Think of how much extra white parts cost on some brands, now add 200% of work to that.
As someone who makes custom PCs, and will do custom coloring. People want this, until they find out how much it will cost to do it.
jinnnnnemu
What is this Jackson Pollock shit.
Aromatic_Wallaby_433
Is it too much to ask for a white-themed ITX motherboard? I keep hanging onto my Z590I Vision D because it’s like the only one, it just doesn’t exist for AM5 or LGA 1700.
Highlander198116
I’m the wrong person to ask since my new build was 100% anti-rgb and if I knew this existed my build would have been anti-this as well.
PetroMan43
I just want to give a shout-out to all my fellow PC builders who couldn’t care less what things look like inside a dark box that sits on the floor.
