Piratebay has even better deals. If you gonna use epic might as well go pirate bay.

  2. KnightBlad3

Good for you. Epic coupons deals are the best. It may not be the best launcher in the social aspect but works great for playing games

  3. Rudradev715

Features wise it is garbage, but it is not slow and bad people make it to be

Free games and regional pricing plus epic coupon was simply awesome in this sale.

Out of 7 games I purchased in this winter sale, 4 where from epic.

I’ve no idea why people hate on the Epic store all that much. There are a few reasons why I’m mostly using Steam: I’ve used it for about a decade so most of my library is there, Humble Choice, and my Steam deck.

But there are some games that I’d never play on my Steam deck (any FPS, strategy, etc) so I am happy to pick it from the Epic Store if it is cheaper. That’s why I got Dying Light 2 there, but Marvel’s Midnight Suns on Steam.

  5. SuperEpic07

This is the reason I use epic as my main account now for single player games.

  6. If you’re in a third world country you should feel no remorse sailing the high seas

  7. zykezero

(Not so) Hot take – discounts are discounts and money isn’t free.

Launcher snobbery is for people who can afford it.

If you live in a third world country I’d venture to guess that your local law enforcement doesn’t have the resources to investigate copyright infringement.

  9. JollyAstronomer5786

buy where it’s cheapest or best deal don’t worship a launcher.

  10. elThirtie

For me, Steam gives the best deals. Sold trading cards and CSGO cases and got like €22. Got 8 wishlisted games for free this winter sale. Personally, Epic can’t compete with that.

  11. x86-D3M1G0D

That’s been my experience as well. I compared prices between Steam and EGS during the last Black Friday sale and the prices were identical. The coupons were what made the difference and ultimately swayed my decision.

Although I don’t live in a third world country, the affordability crisis has made me more price-conscious than ever before. I prefer to buy on Steam but the Epic deals cannot be ignored.

To be frank, I like having this choice. Despite the hate that the EGS receives, it benefits me as a consumer.

  12. weblabourer

The main reason I got into epic was free games

  13. Ocelote934

I grabbed Alan wake 2 and lord of the fallen for a total of like 50$ for both. The deals they run on new games + coupons make epic more then worth it.

  14. BuZuki_ro

I feel like when it comes to deals, hard to top epic after they introduced the coupons. Almost every game I found there was cheaper than on steam after the coupon(besides control)

  15. Epic is good.

Edit: funny how I’m getting downvoted by the steam fanboys. My experience with Epic has been great+ they give away free games.

  16. XenonJFt

Epic has the best deals and coupons for super cheap buys for regional pricing. though I don’t know how far this will go when regional hopping taints epic aswell

  17. Hmasteryz

It is one of option, if you are taking that option it’s your decision in the end, just don’t bitch about it when things go wrong….that’s all.

  18. ms-fanto

I think it‘s everywhere cheaper on epic store, because steam doesn‘t have the 33% coupon

  19. iMisstheKaiser10

And you felt the need to post this? Good for you lmfao

  20. Zeroth1989

Erm aren’t these the same prices? Steam just includes taxes and epic don’t until checkout.

Thanks to the .60 you actually pay more on epic?

  21. CompetitiveWelder607

I live in THE third world and got most my games on steam, epic games has trouble accepting my paypals payments so now i buy exclusively from steam, fuck epic

  22. Umbralogy

Just wait till there’s a big fortnite event or epics servers go down again for the 5th time this week.

  23. Isn’t it even cheaper to buy steam keys etc.? I don’t know how they do it but they are usually cheaper than even highly discounted steam games. I do but in steam if the price isn’t high but if I can get a game for 25€ when on steam it’s 35-40€ then it’s a no brained.

  24. lurowene

always an upvote for the third world mfs who can properly screenshot when we have these dumbass mfs over here using their cellphone to take pictures of their screen.

  25. themikeysb

I’ve got a good amount of really decent games for free on epic games

  26. xXShadowGravesXx

Giving your money to a shit company that thinks they’re always in the right I see. The only games I’ll ever pickup on Epic are free games. They won’t get a dime from me.

  27. bulkiest_sphynx

Those sales rotate through any online store selling them. Epic isn’t unique.

  28. Ok-Transition7065

As third world person, buy from gog

  29. Tarc_Axiiom

As a game developer, this is one of Steam’s biggest faults.

It’s SUCH a pain in the ass to setup regional pricing via Steamworks. While it has gotten a lot better over the years, a lot of gamers are suffering because dad is lazy.

That being said, as a game developer, to fellow game developers, yes Steam should but they’re not so if you don’t you’re bad. Suffer yes but suffer for the right reasons.

  30. DML_Ronin

Games that don’t support regional prices should see the skull and cross bones

  31. Ziasu340

Hot take I’d rather pay for a game on steam than get it free on epic , I need my games all in 1 spot for hour logging and achievements

  32. JamesMCC17

As a first world person I agree. Constant deals and coupons.

  33. Themash360

You should research venture capitalism, Epic is subsidizing these purchases to gain customers. The idea is to get into the market with deals too good to be true, then pivot and squeeze every penny out of the ecosystem.

Epic is publically traded, their monopoly would be terrible for consumers.

I have many free claimed games on Epic. But I have accepted they might all disappear once they either go bankrupt or decide that milking dry entails charging a monthly fee to keep your games.

  34. SaimonSays

Considering the recommended specs for Aveum, how thrid world are you really? The seas are always an option, and i would rather eat a jar of a strangers toenails than use Epic’s beyond shit client

  35. Triger_CZ

if price is the only thing that matters… why not pirate? It’s not like you’re buying indies anyway

  36. Nomnom_Chicken

Yeah, I also favor cheaper options. Steam often isn’t cheaper, which is why I rarely buy games there. I try to favor GoG over others, but if the price isn’t about the same, then the cheaper alternative wins. During this current Epic sale, I have bought more games there than from Steam in many years. Excellent prices.

Now looking to buy two more games since I have over 5 euros in Epic Rewards to use. Spider-Man Remastered and Mass Effect games for 23 euros (discount + coupon + the reward money)? Wonderful deal. These would be about 42 euros on Steam now, yikes.

  37. yerbrojohno

Epic literally have away 60% of destiny 2 content last month, and when it launched on the platform they gave away 30th anniversary. There are lots of other examples, but imo epic the best store and launcher considering all of the free games and expansions. The thing is there is no key market for epic like there is for steam, however a good portion of game keys are illegally obtained, so that could honestly be seen as a pro for Epic.

  38. Stephm31200

You should check the Firefox add-on “augmented steam” so you can check the available prices of your wishlist in nearly the whole market.

    or get a wooden leg

  39. truthfulie

I honestly don’t care what launcher a game is on. Yes, EGS kind of suck compared to Steam but it’s there to launch the game and any launcher can do just that fine. And with launchers like Playnite, I don’t even actively interact with everyone’s favorite, Steam, all that often. A better deal is just…better.

  40. OperationExpress8794

epic best thing ever happened in gaming industry, btw those game ur buying are bad

  41. metalmankam

Epic is spyware and I will not have it on my pc

  42. DecentStud88

I’d rather pirate than give any money to epic. Also if you want a good deal, you should never buy on Steam directly. Keysellers have better deals in 99% of cases.
