My pc right now was good for games like doom and hollow night but i want to be able to play modern games at 60 fps, like md2/3 forza series, games like that, also would this be good for vr?
could use another stick of ram, but that’s just my oppinion built up from seeing posts like “where’s all my ram being used?!”
my5cworth
That’s perfectly middle of the road. The 5600X is a good CPU & the 4070 is a great card.
Like others said, another stick of RAM will help and won’t cost you much.
CheeseLoverMax
Just get 32 gb instead of 16 and you’re set
VIRT22
2x16GB 3600 C16 to be exact. That’s the memory you should go for.
dqUu3QlS
If this is a new system, definitely get 32GB of RAM instead of 16, and at least 2TB of storage. If this is the system you already have, don’t upgrade anything unless you are noticeably running low.
TheLegendD4RK
If you are planning to play VR games then better get a better CPU like 7600+ or if that’s a full system that you have or planning to buy as a full set you can consider replacing the CPU with 5800x3D, CPU does matter in VR for the minimum frame rate that you get.
dylon2008
It would be really good for vr
1234L357
Don’t buy AM4 configuration, get AM5 to be able to upgrade the cpu in the future.
trashpanda89
In addition to the 32GB RAM others have already recommended, maybe think about getting another SSD. With 1TB you’ll run out of space quickly, given the size of modern games. But you can add that later easily and SSDs became quite cheap.
Yukaiwaii
I have pretty much the exact same setup, only difference is I have 32 gb of ram, though I can say. It easily passes!
Bendoair
I would upgrade ram to 32 gigs and the ssd to 2 terras, the ssd especially shouldn’t be that pricey.
okphong
I have almost the exact same setup, but with 32gb ram. 1440p gaming at around 100 fps on ultra (of course depends per game) and about 60 with path tracing on cyberpunk and alan wake (dlss balanced/performance and fg)

My setup is almost identical but with a 3080. Works very well in pretty much any game. For FH5 i get 110+ fps on max settings and 130+ on MW2 with max settings at 1080p
Batyalas
U r good 👍
YOU_SIRIOUS
If QHD yes, if FHD id go cheaper GPU and go am5 platform
Mister_Shrimp_The2nd
Is ram 1x16gb stick, or 2x8gb sticks? If single, then add another ram stick of same type and CAS/speed rating.
But yea overall very decent modern gaming build
carlos_pasa_de_ti
You don’t need to buy more ram, just download 16GB and you’ll be fine. Also upgrade the case to a darker one for proper 4k 60fps, thank me later.
Enjoy your new machine and happy new year!
MarlbroShorts
Yes you have a 4070.
UraniumDisulfide
If you’re asking for buying advice maybe say what the pricetag is
Quitschicobhc
What resolution are planning to play at and is budget of any concern?
Because for what you’re describing something like a rx7600 or rtx4060 are sufficient and offer a decently better price performance. But if spending a little extra is not a concern, the 4070 doesn’t have a horrible price performance ratio or anything.
I have the exam same cpu and gpu and I can run pretty much any triple A game 1440p 90+ fps. If the ram is 1x 16 gb, then add another 16 gb to it.
lazyslacker
It’s a solidly last-gen setup other than the video card, but at this point it will be a good setup.
zet77
Everything’s great except for RAM, but that’s easy and cheap to upgrade
zboy2106
RGB will boost performance by 300%. So yeah, more than decent I would say.
StrikerX1360
Yes it’s good. I’m hoping that’s 2x8GB of RAM and not just one 16GB stick, but regardless RAM is an inexpensive upgrade and 32GB is something to consider down the line anyway.
Stark_Athlon
Could you send a pic of the case? I’ve never heard of that case and I’m curious on it.
onSoleY
CPU and RAM are lacking when compared to the GPU. In general it’s decent.
ahjaokay
Are you building a completely new system from scratch? If so, I would consider going AM5 with Zen 4 for future proving. If bugdet is tight go with a cheaper or used GPU. AM4 is a legacy platform, wouldn‘t start a new build on that tbh.
craft00n
Yep, really good, seems futur-proof
Yallapachi
As no one mentioned it as far as I have scrolled through this… you probably need at least a 750w power supply – better 850w. 650w may not even work out of the box to begin with…
f0rg1vennn
make it 32 gb of ram and it’s awesome, it’s good like this too
Gabito991
Pretty decent. I would add a 1TB HDD just in case, and the ram if you can go for 32 GB 3600 GHz it’s a better choice.
juustoplay
What price?
baliza1991
That’s oretty good yeah. You’ll play basically any game with 60 fps easily at 1440p
Able-Economist2335
Insult them block them so they can’t reply, then it looks like you got the last word. This is the tankie chamber way.
Manifus
I kinda have your build (4070 with r7 5800x3d and 32gb of RAM) – not a big AAA gamer but rdr2 with everything maxed out at 2k resolution 110+ fps, other competitive games like cs, lol, valorant, warzone and so are 200+ fps
nyankittycat_
I have the same pc. Its good.
mkvii1989
I used a 4070 for a minute, though I have a better CPU, and it was solid. Was averaging well over 60fps in CP2077 at 1440p ultra, RT High.
Edit: That’s with DLSS 2. I didn’t try frame gen and path tracing.
Kaki9
No they aren’t, you should throw it away and tell me where you did so
