Turns out you can have both, but Counter Strike has learned over the years how difficult it can be

its gameplay is such a snoozefest.
Some of the new maps still have huge problems, I think Valve focussed too much on making them look good instead of making them good for competitive gameplay.
Inferno has some inexcusably bad stuff: ledges that don’t need to be there, walls that are littered with all sorts of objects so bouncing nades gets unnecessarily tricky, bad grenade + player clipping, inconsistent duck jumps, poor visibility, all that.
Don’t get me wrong, I really love some of the changes (A balcony especially) – but whenever I play the „End of CS:GO“-version it just looks and feels so much cleaner and at home in a competitive game. The layout is still extremely good, but it has the polish I‘d expect from a map like Italy.
This has been my issue with many maps the past 4 years-ish in csgo and now definetely in cs2. There's too much crap and details in the maps. Which ruins the visibility and tanks the performance on systems that used to do just fine, until a map got updated.
Cache is an good example of that
Speaking if green glowing cheats…… Back in the cs 1.6 days…… I have never used cheats in any way and am against them, but…… Back then modding the game was more flexible, and even though i didnt play this mode often, i figured out that on vip maps the vip had a unique identifier as his health and armor were different, but his character model was just a random ct model, so i changed it to qbert. Needless to say you could pock out who was the vip fron across the map. But in my defense it helped on both sides as when you played ct you knew at a glance who you needed to protect, that fact that i could awp the vip no problem playing as t we shall just gloss over……..
Library was an amazing map, i hope they add a "fun" mappool for competitive. Since we get ranks per map anyways it wouldnt impact the hard core competitive players and add some unorthodox maps for the more casual players
I always hate it when my solid teammates try and come inside me from behind
CS2 made to roast your PC. It is too overcrowded… Ah, CSGO was the last Counter-Strike game. Now it's just another thing. Let's be real.
im just glad it says banana on banana

To be perfectly honest, I already hate watching anything e-sports, wether it's on the most beautiful rendition of some italian city or a bunch of blocks and corridors doesn't matter to me.
Same way I feel about mapping, as long as it allows for more creative ways to exist and create some wack gimmicks for maps to spice them up in a way that matters without it being painful as all hell to even attempt to do, I'm all for that. Something that only helps pretty up the maps? Might as well not exist to me.
contrast player characters is like reverse ambient occlusion
Yes the grenades shouldn't be able to bounce in the air on opened garage doors. Yes the more props there is the most laggy it can become. Yes every prop should always have the same properties no matter where they are.
But no for basically everything else.
Maps are way better now with all those decorations also for the gameplay itself, because it feel more like actually fighting in a real environnements, not in an artificial looking impossibly bare ghost town. Props interracting with grenades don't make throwing it more impredictable unless you don't look where you throw it. And being able to hide them under props (or over like with the flower pots on second floor windows) is a great thing. It had more depth to grenades without being too overpowered all around; spots where it is can easely be patched out; its very intuitive and make the maps feel more than just arenas as they become useful tools.
More importantly, you are completly wrong for maps requiring more peoples to be made and mapping in groups being detrimental to creativity. More people mean more potential creativity, more opportunities to spot mapping mistakes and making it easier to find unbalanced area, … Making a map alone require more work from that person yes, but anyone can make the layout, add textures and decorate, its not that hard to do at all. It make it more coherent too as you understand better where you need to not put props and why because you know how the area is intended to be use. It doesn't make it easier to be more creative with the map because instead of combinining creativities, you rely on your own and don't have as good as a objectif look on your creation than if you aren't inventing it alone. So there is way more potential to make something only you understand or who don't turn out how you thought at all when used by others. Thats why testing the maps with friends is important but its absolutly not impossible to map alone, don't make it worse as long as you don't also test alone and isn't hard at all.
Quite cool
I think he is a scientist
CABOOSING!!!
competitive players should never be catered to, pro-gaming is a pathetic "profession"
"Careers are built around this title" sums up pretty well why I detest competitive games nowadays…
Hello 3Kliksphilip, I just wanted to say that your latest music albums are masterpieces 🙂 I basically grew up on your videos and your and your father’s music.
Crossing Those Islands is definitely my favorite. The first release and it’s music video were already amazing. The new version is unlike anything I’ve heard before in a way, there’s nothing like it. 10/10.
It’s just a short letter of appreciation. You’ve influenced the way I make my content in many ways, music is one of them. 🙂
Just look at a game like battlebit remastered. Simple blocky graphics but the fans dont care because they're immersed in the gameplay
I played cs since it was in beta stage in physical LAN centres in the UK where you paid for a timeslot to play cs on a gaming machine of the time against other customers. (A concept totally alien to most younger viewers) I would still play 1.6 if it was still the most played and supported version to me it's still the superior game in every way bar graphics which most turn off or down anyway
Cs was more fun when not trying to be competetive … cs1.0-1.5
What if what people consider hampering gameplay can be a gameplay on itself? Does counter strike only have to be about aim and grenade line-ups? Why can't it also be the ability of a person to identify a person vs an object, and movements among the clutters like the holes in the library map showcased on this video.
I believe anything can be a gameplay element, props included. As long as the prop doesn't imitate a human shape, that is.
E sports players are babies
They get stuck on a rock and die and then cry
This is why Valorant's art style is so good. You can have perfect visual clarity, pretty graphics, and CS style highly competitive gameplay.
Visual clutter and noisey textures are such a problem in shooters right now (Unreal Engine 5's Anti-Aliasing ruins visual clarity). I'm hoping this gets sorted in the next 5 or so years
"OR DOES IT?" 3:19 💀
1.6 was the best graphics wise
The mapping scene reflects the state of this game, way too sanitized and overly focused on comp play, theres no place for casual fun in cs anymore everyone just wants to see a number go up and dunk on other people with their 1337 cheats
The ready or not complaints after the ankle high collusions seemed a bit personal there.
10:22 tee hee 🤭🤭
this sound… this sound at the start of the video gets louder every time i swear!
i don t care i just want valve to bring back cache
you gotta put your gun in low ready for ready or not, youll move much quicker. even faster with light armor, and even faster with a pistol or smg
With cs2 banana I still feel its not that readable. The orange on the back wall compared to the wood isn't clear enough.
Can't say I have ever had that problem with my team mates, sounds like you need to be more careful who you play with 😛
I don't like how CS2 graphics are shaping. Too bright, too pastel, it looks more like game for teletubies than more "serious" setting.
Not sure what makes you so you're so sure about how things are going to end up.
10:23 BRO WHAT
10:21 YOOOO
I love the fact that Philips returning joke is shooting the hostage!
at least you are running down corridors
I mıss Cobble 🙁
I BEG YOU
10:22 ??????????????
Yeah nice graphics tnx valve can we talk about the countless cheaters killing this shit game(with good graphics)?

About player visibility: Boost player contrast is not functioning as in CSGO in CS2. There is no modification of colour of the player, only a very visible halo is added. This halo does not respect MSAA and can make opponents heads look tiny: r/GlobalOffensive/comments/16bwlgb/boost_player_contrast_is_a_little_bit_broken/
I think this should get fixed, as I find the visibility and contrast to still be lacking and a blurry halo just isn't sufficient.
10:22 hold up, wait a minute, what did he say?
