I replaced a 9900K with a 7800X3D last week and it’s been running pretty solid for me, but I started to feel the itch and wanted to see if I could squeeze out some additional performance. I checked in on Buildzoids video regarding Hynix timings on A and M-die – I followed his guide and I was able to boot successfully with the timings he supplied here: [https://youtu.be/dlYxmRcdLVw](https://youtu.be/dlYxmRcdLVw) (my kit is F5-6000J3038F16GX2-TZ5NR).

System seems to be running well, and I’ll certainly continue to stress-test, but now I’m wondering about ramping up the 7800X3D. A lot of people out there are saying to enable PBO, run CO on all-core with a negative offset around -30 and call it a day. I’m already boosting to 5050MHz as it is for max, but I’m wondering if enabling PBO/CO negative offset would help:

I’m also running BIOS revision 1654 on an ASUS B650E-F Gaming WiFi which should take care of the burn-up issues from what I’ve seen online:

Will I see a decent advantage if I try to roll with PBO and a -30 offset on CO for a 7800X3D? Or, does it cause consistency issues with RAM timings and should be avoided right now since my RAM timings are already set?

Apologies, this is my first AMD build since Bulldozer, so I’m just a little green when it comes to Team Red and OC/under-volting. Any info you have is much appreciated 🙂

    Yes you will benifit from using CO undervolting, its one of the best features on Ryzen CPUs to take advantage of as it reduces power draw and increases performance.

    Most 7800x3d chips will handle around -25 to -40 or so for the offsets, just make sure that you aren’t clock stretching and that you run some OCCT Corecycler on it or something for a while.

    You may wanna set your Load Line Calibration to a medium value, leaving it on auto will create inconsistencies with what offsets are stable as LLC is sort of an undervolt in a way, and a good LLC is the foundation of getting a good result with curve optimizer.

    Run Cinebench r23 at zero offset so you can compare that with your undervolting results. Best case scenario is to break around 19000 points, running roughly 5ghz all cores.

    Also CO shouldn’t affect your ram timings lol

    Also also make sure spread spectrum is off
