I mean, I liked this mission, but every time I saw this fucker I wanted to know when I could stop hiding and blast it to pieces.

I just found out this thing is supposed to be a maintenance bot, not used in combat like the Chimera, which we could kill, so what the heck?

    In universe: “Because of Reasons”

In Truth: they wanted to drive home how bats shit insane, terrifying, and powerful Rogue AIs are. And also how FUCKED humanity will be should the Blackwall fall

That damn thing made me want to pull my hair out. On top of getting utterly lost looking for those terminals, I’d find one only for the robot to find me too…panic and hide only to lose where the hell the terminal was and completely lose my bearings again.

That whole mission was probably the coolest one in the game imo. It was also the most nerve wracking one too

Watching the mission back I see that at the beginning when you enter the facility and jack into the terminal the black wall AI hits you with a hack that disables all your combat implants.

That, and that maintenance bot is built to survive the harshest environments possible. It is nuts what that thing is built to hold up against. In regular open combat, we would probably not struggle *too* much despite how tough it is. Down in the cynosure bunker though? Down there things are different.

That mission was annoying as fuck to play but also really cool at the same time. Half the time the robot just randomly located me even if I thought I was hidden. Spent over an hour to actually finish it

it’s a forced stealth section for no reason other than CDPR for some reason wanted us to play Alien Isolation

While I think the game is betting on a level 20-30 V for most of the power scaling in PL, V really has the worst circumstances to fight this thing. With the chimera, it was a damaged and partially deactivated bot in the middle of a perfect arena, while the Cerberus unit is a cutting-edge self sustaining maintenance bot designed for harsh environments, and it’s exactly where it’s designed to be. Factor in the fact that the AI jockeying this thing can make it move like it’s on CyberMeth and you’ve got something you can’t fight. It’d be like trying to stop an excavator covered in ballistic armor with an AK-47, but you’re in a cramped demolition site and the fucking thing’s going 200mph

  9. The robot is being powered by the blackwall which is more powerfull than anything V can have

Yes, actually. For whatever fucking reason, Militech made its outer shell immune to small arms fire, (aka any gun ur able to carry with u into battle) and the black wall AIs are suppressing ur combat cyberware to prevent u from hacking the thing and killing it that way or using any other kind of offensive cyberware against it.

experimental militec prototype bot mixed with a blackwall ai even if you could damage it with a gun it wont save you

Yeah my 20 body gorilla arms V should be able to smash it together like a soda can but I guess for the plot he can’t. Considering you take down a giant spider Mecha at the start of the game(even though it’s stuck before it dies.) That hunk of scrap metal shouldn’t stand a chance.

  13. Hot_Ad8643

Because it hacked V’s implants when you jacked in

It’s made to survive in the toughest environments possible. We’re not meant to be able to destroy it via conventional means

People bring up the Rogue AIs but I doubt that’s really the majority problem. Its conventionally indestructible

It’s like an Old Nokia phone vs an iPhone

Still think the mission is pretty sure though
