big upgrade.
Top_Breakfast2992
Itll be a drop in overall performance but at least now you have access to a handful of raytracing features
BarrelAllen
Giving up Nvidia for only 3 times the preformance, how sad

I went from a 1080ti to my 7900xtx, no regrets! Amazing.

This is the way
PeePeeTheDestroyer
just upgraded from a 2060 to an rx 6800. definitely not as big of a jump but should still be a decent bump in performance.

Userbenchmark would tell you it is a downgrade.
JaguarOrdinary1570
It’s an upgrade from an nvidia card to an AMD card. You could’ve downgraded and this sub would still be rock hard over it
decoy713
GL. I tried one, as soon as I launched any game my GPU was at 100% utilization till the driver would crash (about 30 min). Called support and they said it’s normal to run at 100% I’m getting the max usage in my card. I returned it that day
AccountantOk7335
Damn we must all be upgrading from our 2060s this year lol this is like the 3rd or 4th post of someone upgrading from 2060 after i just upgraded mine this summer
danknerd
I have this exact GPU, loving it so far. The RT in CP2077 at 4k on an OLED is outstanding!
DrearyR6
Don’t forgot to uninstall all of your Nvidia drivers and anything pertaining to Nvidia
BFG1OOOO
I salute you sir
ImVeryUnimaginative
That’s a huge upgrade.
do_you_know_de_whey
Trash, 7900xtx doesn’t support shadow play, fortunately I’ll take it off your hands for ya

Cad4life13
I also turned red this year after using Nvidia for over 15 years
Oryx_Took_The_Kids
Goddamn this sub has a weird boner for AMD
Congrats on the upgrade OP you’ll love it, its an incredible card, although i mean this genuinely and not in a ‘thank you for choosing my chosen billionaire dollar corporation to suck off’ way
bozzmoz
Strong upgrade. Nvidia kit is awful, wouldn’t touch it.
Nicklordzero
You’re definitely getting a massive performance boost, moving from a low-end/mid-tier, older generation graphics card to the top-spec AMD option is a real step up! But hey, OP, just a quick heads up if you’re not into overclocking or anything, make sure to use DDU to clean out any lingering driver software from your old graphics card. And when you’re installing your amd GPU, go for a basic or driver-only install after completely clearing out that old 2060 from your system. I’ve had quite a few folks approach me, swearing their systems were acting up because they missed this step. Just looking out for you. Have a great day and a Happy New Year!

According to Techpowerup .. *check notes*, the 7900 XTX is **~3x** the performance of a 2060, so yeah ONE HELL OF AN UPGRADE!
Ult1mateN00B
Friendly reminder: 3090 Ti lvl raytracing, 4080 lvl rasterization. Gigantic upgrade on all fronts.

Awesome choice my guy
Rough_Ad4416
Seems like a vertical rise in performance to me
The_Metroid
Just upgraded from a 1050 mobile to an rx 6600. Still waiting on the CPU (i5 7300hq –> ryzen 5 5500).

Big upgrade! Hope you got a good value deal!

I’m a simple man. I see XFX, I love it
Cocaine_Johnsson
Excellent choice. Not as big an upgrade as my 1070 to 7900 XTX (XFX Merc 310 Black Edition), but still a significant upgrade.
Snooty_man271
This the exact upgrade I wish I could do but can’t 😭😭
CryogenicBanana
Userbenchmark would like to have a word with you
Keagank
7900 absolutely slaps
AkkYleX
Damn I wish the 7900xtx wasn’t twice the price of the 7800xt here :))
Archangel9731
I think you should’ve went for a 4080 instead. Nice either way
SleazyDZx
Nice. I have the 7900XT XFX Black Edition and can OC to 3. I winder what the XTX can do.
I would highly recommend repasting with some PTM7950. It didn’t take long for my temps to start getting high and after applying the PTM7950 the tekps dropped by nearly 20°.
