You think if keanu reeves can’t get a boner he just goes “wake up samurai, we’ve got work to do” and shazam

For story driven open world games thereās a long list. But for total mindfucks that test your perception of reality and sentience⦠yeah I canāt think of any on Cyberpunkās caliber.

Yeah it’s really hard trying to start another game that isn’t as good as Cyberpunk. It’s like driving a Porshe for a year and now you hope into a Honda accord….I miss my Porshe š

Thats the thing. Theres nothing like cyberpunk. Best bet is to get it on pc and mod it.

The Last of Us part 1 and 2.
Nier: Automata
Havenāt played but heard good things about Alan Wake 2.

Gutted & hollow you say? Have you heard of our lord and saviour Disco Elysium?
In all seriousness, DE is an amazing game, and while itās very different from CP2077 (or any other game Iāve played for that matter), if itās characters, heavy stories and āfeelingsā youāre after, boy does it deliver! Canāt recommend it enough.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will do more damage than Edgerunners ever could. Poor Arthur… Oh and the original Red Dead Redemption will hurt more as well. Don’t forget Final Fantasy 6.

If you wanna shit on corporate foreheads and are okay with a big tonal change, Outer Worlds is a fun RPG for that.

Soma. Very different style of game but the ending really knocks you down.

One of my all time favorites outer wilds. Nothing at all like cyberpunk, but shares the same abyssal feeling after finishing and understanding it.
Nelfe
Definitely Disco Elysium. Very not the same gameplay but you’ll achieve these feels
WalkerBuldog
Disco Elysium if you need more emotional and depressing story

I felt this way after Witcher 3 for a long time.

Want more of the gutted and hollow feeling when done, specifically?
Some games stuck out to me over the years. For blasts from the past, Planescape: Torment is one of the first that comes to mind. It’s Baldur’s Gate set in Purgatory/Hell. Silent Hill 2 definitely hits hard as well. And Lost Odyssey on the 360 – fucking hell, some of your immortal character’s old memories are wrenching.
For more recent-ish examples, either Nier game. Replicant or Automata. They’re both grim as hell. SOMA, too. Could also include Prey from 2017 in there as well. No happy stories there.

I think 3d fallouts are similar. I suggest playing fallout 4 first because New Vegas and 3 look like shit and 76 is multiplayer.

Are you looking for open world and compelling characters? Or a story that will punch a hole in your chest? I love this game but the ending didnāt even pierce my heart: Last of Us, Last of Us 2, Red Red Redemption, Life is Strange, Too The Moonā¦thatās the true meaning of despair.

[Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice](https://youtu.be/fBJ0ifVtK5c?si=etZZt2a0d6wd03cb) is equally dark and well-written. You also get voices in your head! Totally different genre and gameplay though. Linear story with levels, and Souls-like combat. Headphones required.

Itās different but it had the similar effect of ruining other games, none other than Elden ring. Rise up tarnished!

For me it would be Halo Reach
