Gonna be picking up some of those parts in the morning out the yard if you don’t mind.
u want to hold the fans so they dont spin. if they spin too fast they can act as a generator and make voltage and hurt pc parts.
This seems dangerous. Couldn’t the correct angle of wind bend/damage some of the more fragile components?

Heard this could damage pc parts. An air compressor or canned air works much better
feel like the dust would be less of a problem than the myriad terrible things that could happen when using a leaf blower on sensitive electronics

Good way to blow your fan bearings if you don’t tape them down first
RIP fans and maybe some other components thanks to them turning into little generators while spinning like that.

This is so bad for the fans lol. If you were to do something like this, at least put a stick or something between the fan blades so they don’t spin while doing it. If the fan spins too fast it can generate an electrical current to whatever it’s connected to (motherboard most likely) and fry that port or the whole board.
Honestly, this is no where near as bad as people make it out to be. Generally its pretty safe – would still personally stop the fans from spinning in case they break their bearings. I remember Carey Holtzman used to do this all the time.

Hey OP, glad nothing was damaged and you’ve got a dust free pc! In the future for your knowledge spinning fans create voltage and that voltage CAN fry some components. Some other comments recommend taping the fans, but the PSU fan is pretty hard to get to usually, so I recommend a compressed air can that is designed for this use, or removing the psu if you’re dead set on the leaf blower method.

be sure to unplug the fans when u do that so it doesn’t feed power back into the motherboard.
