I always found sniping extremely unsatisfying in this game.
The main reasons seem to be:
1. Enemy render range is very small compared to other games.
2. No silencers for most snipers
3. Even with a silencer, enemies seem to get into fight mode very quickly
4. Damage seems to drop off quickly with longer range.

I always get a good laugh when the physics go crazy. The other day, I short circuited a random Tyger Claw and his corpse flew about 10 feet in the air and did a backflip.
