Make sure you use it for crafting too. I don’t think you can pick it back up once it’s no longer active

2nd playthrough and didn’t craft it so I could display it. Good to know you can do both.

nice now show the place for songbirds present. couldnt display this one yet.
also i used chimera core to make myself a strong nekomata with the lightning from techtree, so i can headshot with power through walls, if i dont want to abuse rasetsu. or for a stronk burya or tech pumpgun

I didn’t know about the mods until I saw it in a reddit post. I just had it on the table.
Anyway I got the tech mod and after a lot of testing, it seems only to be worth it on the tech smg with 0 armor penetration.
The others with 50 penetration don’t seem to gain enough from the mod not to use a legendary variant.
I’ll probably try the smart mod next time

If put core on table before crafting a mod, you remove component needed to craft an iconic mod. Core however can be picked up again.
If you craft a mod, you also can also put a core down, but now it’s “Inactive Chimera Core” when you scan it.
