I recently got myself a 4080 from MSI, the 3x ventus oc to be exact but it doesn’t perform as it should. I have a 9 5950x and in GTA, example, within the graphics settings tab, not the advanced graphics (advanced is all default settings), everything it’s at highest settings possible but I don’t go over 110 FPS and usually it runs at about 80 w weird drop in frames. Other games like fort, even w the auto select preset I have such weird FPS drops. I’ll show you what I mean

Your GPU seems to be getting limited elsewhere it’s capable of much more
My guess is it’s probably something to do with your ram as your CPU should also be capable of much more

What I am trying to say is there is 0 benefit to overclocking a GPU if it’s not being fully utilized
Can only comment about Fortnite here:
Sold my friend a 3070 in past, he ran fortnite 1440p smooth, no issues other than standard fortnite stuff…
He got a 4070, and had massive stutters from the second he got in game, even in lobby.
Didn’t get better after 30 mins or so of playing in game (shaders compile during the game).
We tried DDU and everything, he was thinking of sending the 4070 back.
Issue was, the 4070 scored good in timespy, ran other games fine, temps were completely fine at sub 60s (Asus dual is a beast).
The fix was to reinstall windows, oddly enough, after reinstalling windows, the game ran smooth even without spending time in game to compile shaders.
Anybody else reporting smt like this?
