I followed this guide to “overclock” my CPU up until the part where it says “If you want your CPU to work at stock and don’t want to perform any kind of overclocking, your journey ends here.”

Question 1:

I don’t understand if that means I have clocked it to its maximum turbo speed at this point or if I need to continue following the guide past there? I’m not trying to break any records, I just feel like with this CPU and my very nice custom watercooled loop I shouldn’t just be using the stock 3GHz speed and want to try to run it faster.

Question 2:

I also am not sure how exactly to test for stability after making these changes as stated in the guide:

* “After that let’s run R23 and take a look at VCore. Most CPUs will need Vcore around 1.13V to 1.18V to be stable. Take note of the VCore (Die-sense) while you are running R23. If your system is not stable, incrase the AC\_LL. You can try 0.3. All depends on your CPU quality.”
* “If you’ve been reducing AC\_LL and reached the value of AC\_LL=0.01, and still your system remains stable, you will need to decrease the ‘strength’ of LLC, and in this case, use LLC#3.Remember that for this, you will have to adjust DC\_LL=1.1.Once LLC#3 is selected, with DC\_LL=1.1, start with AC\_LL=0.5, and continue the same procedure, that is, keep reducing AC\_LL until your system becomes unable to run R23.”

I ran Cinebench R23 3 times, on the 3rd time I got the following:

* GPU – 32768 pts
* CPU Multi Core – 2014 pts
* CPU Single Core – 121pts
* MP Ratio 16.63 x
* CPU Package temps (HWinfo64 – Reset values just before test)
* Max: 89 C
* Average: 82 C
* Fans never went above 80%
* Immediately dropped down to 35-40 C in just a few minutes after the test
* Core Voltage (CPU-Z)
* Jumped around from 1.181 (lowest) up to 1.225 (highest) during the test
* 1.19, 1.99, 1.208, 1.217, 1.181, 1.90, 1.99, 1.217, 1.199, 1.199, 1.190, 1.199, 1.217, 1.190, 1.217, 1.199 1.208, 1.90, 1.225, 1.199, 1.190, etc.
* Core speed (CPU-Z) 5500.00 MHz
* Multiplier (CPU-Z) x 55.0 (8.0 – 58.0)
* Bus Speed (CPU-Z)- 100.00 MHz

I don’t know to tell if my system is “stable” based off these tests & numbers. What would an “unstable” system look like? No apps crashed, no freeze up, everything worked normally.

Should I increase the AC\_LL, leave it where it is, or decrease?
