My gigabyte mobo from 2016 is still going strong and can probably serve me for another 8 more years.

I had a Gigabyte ultra durable board back in the AM3+ days and that was fine and served me well for years, it seems gigabyte this gen are pretty bad though. The Gigabyte RTX2070 Super windforce x3 oc I recently gave my son works okay, it does run a little hot and always has done even after repasting the die and it also has the worst coil whine I’ve ever heard and kicks in when your not even stressing it.

After years of using Asus I thought about switching to Gigabyte when going over to the next generation mobos, but then the GPU connector bs and exploding psus hit. Yeah, no.

A few years ago i had a b450 with a semi corrupted bios out of the factory, it was an issue with a lot of gigabyte boards at the time and i never got my refund…

more like mosfet moment, the mosfets or power stages occasionally blowing up is a feature of all VRMs.
