If it doesn’t have vents on the side then you’re not really doing anything to affect it’s air flow.
I’m worried about your lack of surge protector. If there is one then it’s off cam.
It might seem like it’s not needed but unless your PSU has it built in it is needed.
Been using PCs for over 20 years – lost a few to power surges.
How would the airflow going through the case be any different in the little PC spot vs where it is now? You’d still have the same distance from the bottom PSU intake, and the front/rear fans would be exactly as open as they are now.
It will be fine. Just make sure your case has good airflow, that’s the ticket.

Does your case have side intake/exhaust? If only front, back, and top, and you have at least an inch or two on the top, no problem
Unless the front intake is actually on the bottom or sides, it’ll be fine 😁
I personally don’t like it. In my case, my top fans will be blocked and the air inside de case will be affected.
So, I put my desktop on the table and don’t have any problems.
Ive had pretty much this exact desk for years, never once had temperature issues. I would not worry about it what so ever.

Stick your head in there and see if you start to suffocate.
Try it. See what the temps are compared to on the desk. You wont kill your computer with slightly restricted airflow.
Should be ok. You don’t need much room for top exhausts.
Stress test your system and find out. Install HWinfo, max your fan speeds, fire up your favorite game at max settings, and if your temps are below or between 70-80 degrees Celsius, you aren’t going to experience any FPS loss or thermal bottlenecking. My guess is you will see no difference, maybe 2-5 degrees at max in the cubby.

If it stays open front and back and there’s adequate space above so as not to impede airflow if you have top fans, it’s probably OK. It couldn’t hurt to try in any event, as long as you keep an eye on temps for the first week or so, just to be sure.
It will be ok. However, being on the floor, dust settles and is always being kicked around and blown around. Make sure to keep your filters on and clean periodically. Use compressed air. NEVER a vacuum unless you want to shock your computer to death with static.

I see front space for air intake and rear space for exhaust. So yes.
Your fans direct airflow. As long as they aren’t blocked, you should be good.
Ample airflow given your intake is at thw front and the exhaust at thw rear. There’s also plenty of space at the back of your desk for hot air to dissipate.
Regarding protection of your investment, an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is one of the best investments you can make for PC longevity. They have surge protection, power smoothing, and power redundancy features. Absolutely fantastic item.
vaguely remember LTT making a video where they shoved items into a PC case to see how it affects temperatures. (possibly as a response to people putting figures/toys in their cases) They had to completely fill the case, and shove shirts into small crevacies to block as much airflow as possible before there were noticeable increases in temperature I believe.
putting your PC there will just put it closer to dirt/dust, many people do significantly worse.

It’s safe. I use this type of pc desk for 20 years and i always put my PC there.
We got the same Ikea desk. Yes, it’s safe.

It would be fine but i wouldnt do it because of the extra dust but if you dont mind it wont harm anything 🙂
Even if somehow the airflow would be much worse, I’d still put my PC there, rather than having the fans at ear level. No idea how so many people on this subreddit can live like that, the difference in sound is massive.
lol got the exact same ikea table. My pc also sits in there just fine. Thermals aren’t an issue as the pc is raised with feet plus my airflow is intake side/bottom and exhaust up/rear.
This is with an rtx3080 r5800x in a mesh nr200 case

My table has that space too, but i keep my pc on top because i like to look at it hahaha

Is your fan setup, in through the front out through the top and back ? If so it’s the same as mine and I noticed no temp difference sticking it in my lil desk bit.
