An explanation: when I take control of a car from outside and I’m stationary, then I do control it in second person, as I’m standing as one entity, and I’m controlling a second, “you” entity that I can see, and which isn’t followed by a camera.
The deal is the same here, except that my body follows the “second person” that’s being controlled.
The difference between this and third person is that in third person, the camera is following and is focused on the car I’m controlling, meanwhile in second person the camera is centered around an “I”, while a different entity (car) is being controlled.
In first person the camera is focused on “me” and “I’m” the one being controlled.
So second person is a case of the camera’s focused being mismatched with what’s being controlled.

Sorta reminds me when I just jump onto a cars’ roof or the back of a pickup truck and just enjoy the ride but with steering.

The game Driver San Francisco did do a weird “second person view” driving mission in their game and that’s the only example I can think of. It’s difficult to explain, but i’d recommend watching a video of it. It’s pretty cool.
This isn’t a second person perspective, this is you standing on something you’re controlling in first person. There is no second entity.
It’s the same concept if you could hack a camera and view V through it and control them, the perspective is shifted but it’s still your perspective.
An example of 2nd person perspective would be you are driving in a car chase with someone in pursuit – you ‘hack’ or clairvoyantly view through the person chasing you’s eyes behind you in the chase, but your inputs respond from the perspective of where your body is, controlling the car in front.
In this example if the other person looks away, or makes an autonomous decision it affects the perspective, it’s not just shifted, it’s second person.
It’s a difficult perspective to use well in basically most mediums, hence why first and third are dominant narrative tools.

I used to do this before the hack by jumping on a car and firing my gun in the air. But it wasn’t long before I’d get knocked off
I do this all the time its genuinely fun, and I always felt it was just quicker than getting in/out.
Has led to loads of weird bugs though!

I loved doing stuff like this in watch dogs 2. Was always super fun to just jump on top of a semi or a ambulance and just surf away while controlling it on the roof.

Funnily enough, doing this while trying to escape the cops will Sri them from trying to pit maneuver you, along with disabling your vehicle etc. they’ll follow you, but as soon as they get close they’ll pull over and get out like dummies (2.0 haven’t checked with 2.1 yet)
