seeing this today after my AIO died and I got no money for a new one or for other cooler is just pain

I bought a dark rock pro 2 for my R5 7600. I know it’s overkill but i don’t regret it at all. Beefy heatskink makes me happy.

Don’t really understand the aio love. Seems like a lot of problems for 0 benefit over a $40 air cooler

Aren’t you supposed to replace the thermal paste every 1 year?
Don’t get me wrong, I’m AirCooling Gang too. But cleaning out old thermal paste is a task we share with our AIO brethren.

I will build a new rig before I touch the stock fan cooler again

I have a Dark Rock Pro 4, I’ve taken it out maybe 5 times for maintenance and upgrading and it’s a bitch every time. AIOs are so easy to pop off

AIOs are physically superior, but if you like the price or the form factor of air coolers they’re good.

Air cooler also has a limitation to their capability of the copper vapour chamber too. But the failure is longer than usual AIO. Nothing is perfect even if you put tons of copper heatsink on top of your CPU it will degrade with the oxidation.
So it depends on which one do you need. Every cooler has its own CFM (I think) you can refer as their capability to transfer the heat. So please make sure that your cooler is capable to cool your cpu

I just have a regular Dark Rock 4, not the pro. My shit stays nice and cool, quiet, and won’t fucking destroy my rig if something goes wrong.

That’s the exact bequiet cooler I have. Still can’t tame the 11700k overclocked to 5.0 GHz

Too much thermal paste hurts heat transfer from cpu to cooler
