One of the backlight LEDs has burned out. The LED strip needs to be replaced.

Do me a favor and move those white speakers away from TV.

If in warranty, take it in NOW.
If out of warranty, google the model, check for disassembly tutorials, find the LED strip at the bottom, buy and replace it.
Make sure you work clean or you will end up making it worse.

Your monitor would rather kill itself than watch city play I guess

Burn out
Bytepond
The backlight of the monitor is made of of LED strips, likely on the top and bottom, maybe just on the bottom, and a chunk of it has burned out. Repair may be possible, but if it’s under warranty, take that route first.

Not a monitor issue. It’s the shadow on the pitch from the touchline of Pep’s bald head .

Ya. You have burned out LEDs. Time for a new monitor

No sunlight in that area.

Same as the ref in that match, it’s fucked.
Seriously- back lights are going just as others have mentioned, best option is to get a new monitor, repairing monitors aren’t worth it.

Just hit degauss on the monitor

I had the same thing on a Samsung smart tv. The led backlight is a strip of evenly spaced LEDs at the very bottom facing upwards into some clear acrylic and opaque diffusing panels to evenly light up your screen.
Replacing the backing involves disassembling the monitor, and then the panel itself including carefully moving the LCD panel so you can access the backlight LED strip.
A whole new strip is probably $20 – $50 on Amazon but you could also replace just the one or two burnt out LEDs if your soldering skills are decent. That’s what I did but the colour temperature of my replacement LEDs are slightly off making the replaced section slightly reddish looking. Really only noticeable on a solid coloured background.
TLDR: buy a new monitor if it bugs you 😁

Honestly, fuck repairing it yourself. It will take an inexperienced person 3-5 hours if not more. You could work part time somewhere making 12/h and make enough money to just pay for a professional to repair it and they’d probably have a guarantee.

Time to buy a new TV, backlights are starting to go out, had this with my Samsung but it was spots instead of lines, just over 2 years and they started going. Never get a Samsung again

Head butt it from the back until it works. If nothing happens look for a new one
