Responding to “keyboard isn’t meant for racing or driving”

  1. Apparently it isn’t meant for walking either, walking toggle has a bug since it was introduced way back when.

    Thank you.
Most people just don’t undestand how this should work, so they do it wrong and instead of trying something else just blame the game.
Physic model is actually pretty good for cars in this game.

But to be fair, devs should’ve accounted all of this to make KB control easier for people unfamiliar with car physics AND how game applies control. After all, this isn’t racing sim.

Neither the game nor the keyboard are designed for racing. It is not a crime or a weakness of CP2077. Racing, whether arcade or sim is a genre of it’s own for good reason.

Please don’t take it as a criticism but this video only proves that CP2077 driving is good enough to take a few consecutive turns without contact. You don’t follow a racing line, show no sign of momentum, take some turns literally at 10 km/h and touch grass a lot. That’s not racing.

I hope the trend of people posting driving videos on this sub and debating car handling ends soon lololol

Between every vehicle I try to drive (with keyboard) fishtailing all over the place, and then getting stuck behind traffic at every turn in the city, I became a fond user of the Arch. I can whip through the city on that bike, only occasionally murdering pedestrians at corners 🙂

  6. I love how everyone’s coming out flexing their skills with this car now, such satisfying videos to watch.

Whilst I was impressed with the driving, I was most impressed with the camera control at the same time!

Honestly if cdpr ever made cyberpunk online, it should just be a racing game through NC.

  9. ReconJesus

I’ve been playing with keyboard and mouse since day one. Works great!

  10. Brother I was raised on keyboard car controls, even when I could use a joystick, I was already a master racing pianist. My V’s gas pedal has 2 settings: full gas and no gas

  11. HaruharaHaruko1

I’m loving these skillful driving vids

tbf, the people that say that literally just suck w/ keyboard controls or have never touched it lol

Takes some getting used to but once you do, driving is amazing.

lover the key sensitivity and voila – NeedForSpeed, nice driving bro

Some of us have managed the RC Chopper from GTA: Vice City perfectly…this is nothing.

drifting in this game is smooth as butter and probably one of my favorite things to do

  17. Gomdagreat

I’ve found that tapping A or D is a lot smoother than holding them down on MnK controls.

Wait, I’m trying to figure out how I used to race on games on pc long before true console racing games came out… oh that’s right I practiced and GOT GOOD!

Noice droiving! I’m pretty good at keyboard driving as well, though not as good as you. That said, just because it’s possible to get good doesn’t make it a good tool for the job. There are people who can beat dark souls on the guitar hero controller, but that doesn’t make it a good controller for character control. I could probably peel a potato with a fork if I really had to, but I’d rather use a knife. An English arming sword isn’t really great for piercing plate armor, but if you hold it by the blade and swing the cross guard, it just might work. Or, if you know you’re going to face someone with heavy armor, you could just use a bec de corbin or war pick to begin with. The right tool for the job isn’t always the only tool that can get it done. More often, it’s just the easiest to use for the task.
