$1600 now seems like a good deal

I just can’t imagine spending even $1600 on something like that, not without a VERY specific purpose (like you’re an animator or AI researcher or something)

    Introducing the brand new 5090

    Starting at only $2200

Maybe my 1080ti can hold 1 more year…pretty plz. i cant handle 3-4k cost for 1 gfx card -.-

  4. MrOphicer

But *WHY* does it keep rising, besides Nvidia’s greed? I just don’t get it. I know AI research is increasing but they have dedicated GPUs for that. It just cant be solely due to AI…

    So expensive 😵‍💫

I wonder how much the 4080 ti/super will be.

GH Electronics, Velztorm, Tech 4 All Store, GeekShopping.

And then you guys complain “Newegg is bad!” when you buy all your stuff from no name 3rd parties at inflated prices. Buy from Newegg only when shopping on Newegg. Just like buy from Amazon only or at the very least, something fulfilled by Amazon, when buying on Amazon.

Buying from 3rd parties is like Shopping on Ebay.

When the local microcenter has rows and rows of 4090s, 4080s, and 4070s all within ~$100 of MSRP. (United States East Coast Suburbs FTW!)

  8. Those are scalpers. Check the little box for sold by Newegg only, and wait for Ngreedia to be done with their inventory / market manipulation.

Damn makes me feel glad I bought my 4090 Suprim when I did 1500 is a lot but damn was it worth it

  10. darthsatoshious

Holy crap…I had no idea cards have gone up so much. I feel lucky now buying my 4080 two months ago at 1000…

  11. DigiQuip

50-75% the cost of building a PC now is the GPU if you go nvidia.

  12. AppropriateMethod793

thats the point op, to make you think it was a good deal. so when they lower prices down to 1900 you will think its an amazing deal. but what this actually says is nvidia sales have dried up completely and they are trying to desperately make sales. the stupid super release, the 6000 series still in huge abundance not selling, poor multi billlion dollar nvidia

  13. here_for_the_meta

Damn I just built my pc in Oct and mine was 1700 from microcenter. Got lucky

  14. These are scalpers putting up Hail Mary listings hoping some fool bites.

4090s go in stock at msrp everyday just follow a stock checker/alert

  15. ElDakaTiger

Not a single one sold by Newegg. F scalpers.

  16. TherealPadrae

You do not need it… it will be 800-600 soon

  17. TherapyPsychonaut

Shit there might be a barely used 4090 FE hitting eBay soon if that’s the case

  18. Infamous-Inside-4736

Any time I think about upgrading my 1080 Ti I take a look at what high end cards are going for and cringe. Not happening unless my card croaks, and even then I don’t know.

  19. Straight-Geologist51

Even if I had the money I wouldn’t get a GPU for that price. I don’t think I’ll pay more than 1200 for the highest-end GPU. By the way things scale, it just doesn’t make sense to me.

  20. templestate

They’ll only charge what the consumer is willing to pay.

  21. Kjellvb1979

This is just unacceptable… even if the 4090 was 1500, it’s a no go on my book. The pricing should be more like

    4090- $1000-1200 @ most
    4080- $700-1000
    4070- $500-600
    4060- $200-300

The left side of those numbers are probably more where they should be. Nvidia and most other companies currently are gouging the shit out of the public. I won’t buy a new GPU for a while, was fortunate enough to get a 3080 at msrp during covid, and when time comes to upgrade, I’ll not buy the newest generation, or just go with the competition.

4090 is expensive and too much of a diminishing return for me anyway
