
I have been fiddling with my RAM OC for 2 months now and recently settled for 3200Mt/s, cl14 with 280ns, similar to this one. After some people repeatedly told me to go for the 3600Mt/s and work with the fact that Cmdr of 1 is not possible below Primary Timings of 22 24 24 24 21, which is why this is now with GDM enabled, I did some fast tests and the performance is abyssmal compared to the 14 18 18 18 21 woth 3200Mt/s OC. The Secondaries and Tertiaries are basically the same, only tCWL is at 12 on the 3200Mt/s OC and tRC and tFAW are significantly higher.
I am not talking about a performance diff of 1%. I tried Cinebench r23 for general cpu workarounds, where I last 700 points om average. I tried some games, gpu and cu intensive ones, as also mixing it up a bit and comparing the FPS in different situations.
Its only been around 2 hours of testing but the way it looks now, this OC should be better than the 3200Mt/s one but the performance is around 5-12% worse.
Anyone has an idea on how and why if this OC has better and tighter secondary and tertiary timings, 200Mhz more effective speed, the same memory latency, more Bandwith, and only has slightly worse primary timings and rather than a Cmdr of 1T, I am using GDM?
(Note: I had the OC on 3200Mt/s tested with GDM too, on the same settings with only GDM and 1T changed, the difference was basically not there, so I am pretty certain this cant really have such a big impact here)
