Molex is still around. Those old hdds and dvd drive use molex power connector. I built new rig in 2020 and my psu still has molex connectors but you will have to look for one that has at least 3 to fit your needs. The one for floppy a drive may not exist in modern psu though. But does he still use floppy a drive this days? Pc looks like it came straight from 2000.
Since it’s standard ATX you should be able to find a new PSU that will work here. Believe it or not modern PSUs still include older connectors.

the motherboard has a 20-pin atx power connector so if you want to use a modern atx power supply with a 24-pin connector, you’ll need a 24 to 20 pin adapter
otherwise, you may be able to scour ebay for a 20 pin legacy psu, though, not advised since they’re old

SATA to Molex power adapters often come with EVGA modular power supplies. If you wind up needing more, you can order them for cheap on Amazon/Ebay.

Ahhh the good old damn hard to detach Molex connectors ! It’s been a while since I saw them . Crap now I also remember when I had to set the master and slave on the back of the hard disk haha.
Wow that’s a bit old. On the off-chance he’s anywhere near me (Yorkshire, UK), I have several of those PSUs which will work and he can have one for free.

I would get him a refurbished pc from amazon. 6th and 7th gen intels are super cheap right now.

If you can’t find a psu with molex cables built in you can always buy molex adapters for modern psu.
My Corsair cx550m came with molex’s (moli?) and floppy drive connector.
Most PSU’s have molexes and a 20 +4 pin power connector. Not all have a floppy power cord but you can get a molex to floppy converter cabel easily.
So this shouldn’t be a problem at all. And you could just buy a used PSU, or pick one up from a dumpster. There are millions of them and they have zero value today. I have one I could give you but I live in Sweden so its most likely not viable.
Refurbished optiplexes make great computers for grandparents, recently swapped out their ancient pc for one and it’s great for €90.
I would hit up a local computer shop as they will likely have used ones kicking around. Bring your tower with you so they can match one up. Likely cost you $40 or $50 bucks.

You don’t need to spend a lot on the psu. 250W will already be enough. The connectors are standard and although the motherboard has an older 20-pin connector, the more modern 24-pin connector will plug in just fine. While you’re at it, it should be super cheap to double or triple the amount of ram. I would also refresh the thermal paste.
You could also decide to upgrade the hdd to an ssd, but that depends on how much your grandfather is willing to spend on this pc.
As long as you get a modular or semi-modular unit, it will have everything you need.
You can find several older style computer in bulk auctions and second hand shops. I’ve saved a few from second hand shops. Even old parts too just laying around the back discarded electronics area with the tangle of AC adaptors no one wants to untangle. Found a new PSU once still sealed in the box.
He uses the disc drive, accesses whatever is on the hard drive, and that’s it. That’s what likely matters.
Buy him almost any basic computer on sale, transfer his files from his old hard drive, and you’re done. Donate the rest of the computer to a local high school computer science teacher.

You can absolutely buy a new PSU with the required connections. I have yet to see one without MOLEX in some form. The biggest issue with this system, besides its age, is the failed/failing capacitors to the left of the CPU. I personally would not run that PC without fixing those caps. I would also get a new one if that is used on the internet at all. Personally, I love old computers, but as it is, it needs more money to fix than it is worth.

The caps around that old Socket A CPU are failing a new PSU will not fix the computer.
I would suggest to get a off lease business’ PC if he wants a windows xp/7/ vintage PC etc

Those are standard molex connectors. It was wat we used before a sata power connector. The rest of the cable are no different than a current PSU. The big ribbon cables are ide (data) cables. Again what was used before Sata data cables were around
That PC is older than Methuselah. I wouldn’t spend anything resurrecting it; if it has any data that needs recovering, get an IDE to USB adapter.
HEY OP, this psu looks like it might even be only replacable by the manufactures psu, that doesnt look like a 24 pin layout plugged into the motherboard, is this a dell? Hp? What pre make brand is this? This will help start finding a proper PSU bc you cant just grab one with molex connectors and make this work, it looks to be again one made / designed for prebuilt computers.
That’s just an ATX power supply, with a 24 pin motherboard connector, a 4 pin EPS connector and 3 MOLEX peripheral connectors.
All that stuff is included with about every power supply sold today.

Get gramps a new pc for 100$ at a pawn shop that one is old enough to have ide cables just about anything will be an upgrade
Check if the XPG Pylon fits your needs. It comes with a floppy disk connector. It’s a C tier PSU but for this PC it should be plenty.
For a good power supply go to newegg they have a EVGA 400 N1 100-N1-0400-L1 400W Power Supply for $45 .
Wow now there is a blast form the past. That motherboard doesnt even have PCI express it has old AGP for the GPU. You can easily get a PSU to work for everything but the floppy drive. That you might need a molex to 4pin adpater for. But honestly it might be worth looking into a second hand workstation computer for Grandpa off of facebook market place.
Id be more concerned with what OS he has on that thing and how secure it is. Anything older than windows 10 is totally out of support, and even that has less than two years left.
