Yes, this was kinda bad. I used Kazimir, it sucked up like 6 mercs while doing the rocket contract.
Just use the rgl, makes it very easy
Escort cargo missions always have 3 merc in garage, open door/toss Semtex/ active Aether Shroud before it explodes
Zone 2 Cargo runs = 3 Merc kills. Zone 1 Exfil = quick zombie kills. Hell I bet there’s an even easier way than my method. It’s not hard, it doesn’t even take more than one game.
Just finished this, it was terrible
So we found a raid contract next to a merc camp. Keep safe paused. Charge up with zombies. Throw a dexoy grenade so they all gather round. Pop aether and spray headshots. Repeat. Then run into merc camp – pop and run/touch as many as you can then run away and repeat.
trigger the shroud while activating a deadbolt turret netted me quite a few kill
Use a precision airstrike on a merc camp and pop the aether shroud right before its about to hit the enemies
This quest was a bummer lol. The mercs shoot you even when you’re shrouded too!
Honestly running an outlast or escort ti build up shroud then do camps and a stronghold or two for mercs. You can run over to another contract before beginning the stronghold safe to build up another shroud
Something no one in this thread has mentioned, if you full die and have a teammate revive you you instantly get your field upgrade back.
Find a group of mercs, kill as many as possible, die and crawl away, revive, kill the rest.
I did precision airstrikes on mercenary camps
Merc kills took me a few games. Zombies are easy, get a horde throw a decoy and use c4. Activate aether shroud before detonating
The worst part is the first 2-3 seconds of shroud your guy is shooting the gun with one hand because he’s holding whatever the fuck the shroud device is in the other hand.
especially since the mercs can see you with it on so whats the point
Find an outside Merc Camp/Aether Contract, stack up a few Precision Airstrikes and then use Shroud right before the Airstrike hits. I just got done with this myself, the Telsa Storm one is just as bad especially solo.
I was so frustrated with this challenge at first and then I found the convoy
. Kill as many as you can while the shroud is going on and then leave, do not kill the rest of them. Stay close by, get a bunch of zombies kill them so that you power up again and then go right back and finish off the convoy.
I used c4 for this it worked perfectly
I did the intel contract. Let the mercs surround the computer and use an explosive to kill em all. Could get 3-4 each one give or take
Also the next one isn’t too much better. Stun X amount of zombies/mercs with that lightning upgrade. Again super annoying.
For the mercenaries, I just grabbed the Haymaker or an LMG, hit up a stronghold with a second floor, start cracking the safe, waited till the helicopter dropped off some mercenaries, then I would pop Aether shroud and let the LMG or Haymaker rip through the mercs as I walked down the stairs.
It was surprisingly effective
What I did is farmed a spore contract and then got all my zombie kills, then I found an army camp decently far away from the spore so I ran over there, killed a few mercs, came back to the spore to fill up my meter, drove back out to the camp and killed more mercs. If you get far enough away from the army camp they will respawn if you didn’t clear out the camp. I got that mission done in one game surprisingly
This was one of the missions that really could’ve afforded having fewer targets overall to finish. There were several where honestly kills could’ve been halved and would’ve been fine or better for it.
For the zombies part, just toss out a monkey bomb and pop the shroud right before it goes off. Went pretty quickly that way
Activation kills like 2 seconds so basically you have 3 secs to get as much zombie kills as possible. The mercs, well you gotta get lucky up to like 5 per activation or 2-3 mercs in spamming cargo contracts.
Decoys are your best friends for the zombie portion , then merc strongholds just use a PAP’d rgl on the inbound heli
Find a merc camp, call in an airstrike, pop aether shroud. Sucks but i got like 8 at once.
If you can find the convoy hit that puppy.
Use air strikes on the merc camps, activate right as you can hear first strafe coming
The zombies are easy to get, mercenaries on the other hand. I found it easier to just go around to certain camps that have a good abundance of them, in one open area. Deadshot daiquiri will make this 10X easier and faster.
I use an RPG ti destroy the helicopters dropping them in and you get like 6 merc kills
I did it in one game getting xp for the eradicater.
Do the Jansen extraction and set up the turret, constantly keeps getting kills giving it back to you super faster and lots of mercs in that mission even at the end to shoot
For Mercs do cargo contracts open garage pop shroud and hip fire them, for the zombies just que in solo, do a sport contract, drop the inhibitors in 2-3 spots next to each other but don’t destroy the spore. Round the zombies up 10+ at a time, pop shroud and go to town, rinse repeat
