  1. First the LotR hate and now Redwall slander? At this point I wouldn't be surprised if Andy has something against Discworld or Wheel of Time.

  2. This is why "mom can't cook" is one of the only podcasts I listen to. These two have the best dynamic 😂

  3. So anthropomorphic rodents with swords and shields is laughable, but anthropomorphic rodents that run really fast, collect rings, and in previous games, had romantic relationships with humans is acceptable?

  4. The concept of that Avatar game — not just the fact that it's an Avatar game, but the story premise itself — sounds terrible. If you're going to make an Avatar game, "raised by humans and frozen for 15 years" is not the direction I would go.

  5. Wait, so your entire reason for not taking Red Wall seriously is because it has animal characters, but you don’t have a problem with Sonic? …well okay then o.O;

  6. I love you guys and it IS a free country where even wrong opinions are legal to have… but I'mma have to dislike the video on account of Andy's stance on rodents with swords.

  7. Ah, so THIS is the video where I discover that Andy and I can't be friends. Because he was too good for a series about fictional rodents killing the crap out of each other in medieval pseudo -europe.

  8. I thought Andy was one of the good ones. Then he turns up with his trash Redwall opinions and ruins that.

  9. Okay, seriously… I was so disappointed "Redfall" wasn't Redwall." I thought, "Cool, they're making a game out of the sword-fighting critters." But no, it was a bad vampire hunting game. 😢

  10. Here's my thing with moria. The dwarves built then mine in the first age, end of the first age the balrog goes and hides from all the balrog killing under the mine. 1) how did no dwarf not notice a balrog moving in, you're telling me a balrog snuck into moria? And 2) why would a balrog choose the greatest settlement of creatures who's key feature is digging and mining? Of course they're going to find the balrog, and now he got gandalfed. You know where he could have hid and gone undiscovered? Rivendell, the shire, isengard, anywhere else. The balrog and dwarves deserve what they got

  11. The Redwall books were achingly slow, and whenever things started getting good they would switch to a different point of view. The best part was always the descriptions of the most lavish banquets. And the one mouse who wacked seagulls with what was—as far as I can remember—a massive rock in a sock. The image of that is hysterical. The Lord of the Rings is certainly better, but I was too young to read those yet!

  12. I'm from the US, so I'm confused; I thought all British citizens were required by law to find animal stories charmingly whimsical? Can Andy legally slag off "Redwall" like this? Or was that an EU rule so Brexit got rid of that?

  13. That thumbnail reminds me we still need a dedicated Chao raising game. That whole minigame was the best part of Sonic Adventure 2.

  14. The only Lord of the Rings movies that I've seen are two of the prequels like the desolation of smaug and the battle of the five armies.

  15. Lukes smoldering eye intensity was priceless because he anticipated andy to let loose which he did but in a rather alright I be some what serious 😂

  16. my brain sees Smalland and suddenly the tiny forgotten child in my psyche that was obsessed with arthur and the invisibles as a kid does a little happy dance

  17. I really enjoyed "Redwall" as a TV series, but never in my dreams I would have asked for any form of game in this universe. It just saddens me that they made one with such poor graphics and turning it into a laughing stock for guys whose whole life revolves around games (no offense)

  18. Anyone else hoping that with the rise of Grounded and Smalland we might get an open-world survival craft entry in the Mushroom Men series? Just me?

  19. Next MCM, Andy will be cornered by a Tolkien nerd and told the full history of Khazad-dum in painstaking detail 😊

  20. My brother try to get me into reading with the RedWall books and Lord of the Rings since they were his favorite as a kid. The difference was 30 years apart and I rather of played games and watch TV than read.

  21. "Andy I like you very much but your persistent failure to take Lord of the Rings seriously is one of your greatest failings" -Luke Westaway, 2023

It's a testament to the pair's friendship and/or professionalism that they can go so far as to run a podcast together despite such an incontrovertible difference of opinion ; )

  22. Don't worry Luke, one day Andy will find himself in desperate need to know more about Martin the Warrior. Then he'll come crawling back to you for answers.
