It’s trash, and the reviewers’ brains were cooked or they were paid off

Everyone’s entitled to their opinion (which is what reviews are). In my experience people are more often going to complain about something before they go out of their way to say something good about it. I’ve been playing games since Atari, and realized long ago that I should try and form my own opinions on things. Because of that I’ve like a lot of poorly reviewed games I may not have otherwise enjoyed.
That being said, I fucking hate starfield.
HumanInProgress8530
Starfield, like all Bethesda games, is beautiful, soulless, and empty. Just like the brains of all those reviewers
Affectionate_Rent988
For me the immersion just isn’t there, It’s so vanilla. There’s so many cool things in the game but the way it all wraps together is shit, nothing really feels important or like you have to do it. Everything just feels like a side quest and the amount of fast traveling you have to do doesn’t make it any better.
I could rant on and on but ultimately it just wasn’t anything compared to fallout games and what I would expect from a Bethesda game with so much time/money/effort put into it.

I love the reviews most where they name it a total scam, had 500h when they wrote the review and are now at 850h.
Chakramer
It’s a 7/10 at best
Too many people think shiny graphics and some modern gameplay are enough to make a game a 10/10
hammy0w0
I think most reviewers take the graphics wayy too far into account. They also don’t play for long enough to see the flaws, they give the company what they want, and get the money.
EconomicConstipator
That reviewers are full of shit and cheap to buy.

I’m just sad they we waiting like 8 yrs for a big bathesda rpg and this is what we got. Could’ve gotten multiple Elder scroll or Fallout games during this time :/
endless_8888
I was the biggest Stan for this game and went as far as upgrading my PC a month before release.
Starfield is a good game, and I can definitely say good things about many parts of it. I can also say some parts absolutely stink as well.
These reviews are delusional.
I feel like I would still recommend this game to people, but with managed expectations.
GooDragonX
reviewers are payed to glorify this trash fire.
its 6/10 at best.
Crowzer
I’m waiting mods made with creation kit and I’ll start to play Starfield.
TheJonJonJonJon
At its best it’s 6/10.
Spicyspoonyluv696
I think it’s fun.

Not as good as the reviewers say but also not as bad as the players say

Hypocrites. Hypocrites everywhere!!!

I don’t trust gaming publications at all. Most of them are clickbait farms funded by their 9/10 reviews for middling games. That said, haven’t played Starfield but the comments I’ve read about it seem to suggest it’s not really worth it until it’s $10 on a steam sale.
Unfair_Jeweler_4286
lol these ratings 🤦♂️ you know you missed the mark when people are defaulting back to Star Citizen, the buggy and sometimes completely frustrating sim that has apparently blown the doors off of Starfield
OmniscientOrangutan
Got about a 100 hours of coping in this game:
3/10 game
20/10 sleep aid
Props to the developers and artists who worked on it, but the direction and design Bethesda took was horrible. Also, aside from the cool screenshots and clips, some of the people on Starfield subreddit need to touch some grass.
Future-Wave978
I feel like a lot of the reviews were written by 40 year old dudes that wanted the same Bethesda game they have played for the last decade, which is pretty much what they got. That said, I’ve started looking less at scores and started caring more about reading the reviews and getting a feel for the game that way. I also don’t think the game really deserves much praise, I found it very mediocre at best.
sunderwire
Did we play the same game as those reviewers lol
DShawn99
Game “Reviewers” and “Critics” base their score based on how much they get paid. The opinion of the average player is what I value
Xenolithium
Reviewers were paid to give those scores. Players gave those scores for free and honestly.
Independent_Gap1022
Cant trust these reviewers, its soo fake
JohnTitorFFXIV
This is exactly why nobody takes Reviewers serious anymore, the game is a 5/10 easily.
I refunded this game.
DeathscytheShell
I got bored after 3 days and proceeded to play Armored Core VI instead
Majorllama66
I gave it an 8/10 when my friend asked me at ~40 hours. Once I beat the game and NG+10 I would give it a 6/10.
I don’t think the game is bad or anything, but the more time you sink into it the more you realize just how… shallow it is? Lots of little things add up to a very disappointing late/end game.

Have these reviewers ever rated something <8/10?
