I kinda see why they didn’t end up using this character for a taxi driver simply because of the backlash they would’ve gotten, but I mean look at this shot. Cab full of guns, an actual human driver, idk what the taxi concept or what these characters were before delemain, but I wish we could’ve gotten the version of the game they showed in the trailer. Even though it was all fake it still looked more alive and lived in than what we got on release.

The idea of a bounty system would’ve been a cool implementation. Considering you can go round and kill all the gang members you want with little to no consequences. It’d be cool to see bounty hunters pull up in a taxi and get out hunting you down.

Delamain in game is seen to be portrayed as a luxury taxi service. There’s no reason why this couldn’t of been a cheaper alternative with both in game.

At the end of the day most of the trailers were more lore inducing than a representation of the in game activities. Which is probably why the hype was lifted far above what any game should allow.

The guys in the back are the Arasaka assassins chasing you down the freeway early game right?

Funnily enough, after the missions and side gigs. You never get into a delamain taxi ever again. I wish someone made “slow travel” or commute mods.

You know like the train mod we already have, but for other fast travel points. Instead of teleporting, you actually summon a delamain cab, ride in the back, and enjoy the city without being the one driving.

    They somehow resembles the Maelstrom.
And yeah. I agreed cdpr would get some critics over the driver. Maybe they did because of the trailer shot. We will never know.

All other assumptions beside, anyone who hasn’t pressed the button to skip the ride knows why there aren’t taxis in Cyberpunk. More than once I have decided to let my character ride, gone to get a cup of coffee or something, and come back to the NPC driver idling in an intersection after causing an accident.

  6. Some mechanics sound cool but do not work. This is normal with game development.

The taxi and the metro were probably partially implemented in the game but were deemed too slow or glitchy. If you played through the game multiple times, waiting for Panam to drive in the Badlands is just slow compared to the rest of the pacing of the game.

Removing features that don’t work is expected. Think about how the perks were revamped during 2.0. Furthermore, the item data also shows that the game had an even earlier itemization before 1.00, where clothes would give attributes like +3 cool in a more RPG manner. This sounds fun, but in practice, the current cosmetics-only approach is better than the armor-only approach during version 1.x.

I encounter alot of groups of 3 or more npc’s that are exactly the same, clothing and all, standing around… I’m so happy they’ve kept this feature in the game!
