The last remnant of a bygone era

It’s bygone for a reason. Nvidia’s UI looks like ass lol.

  2. I still do like the 2002 Windows XP era Windows Explorer look for the Nvidia Control Panel, still easy for me to navigate around.

No need to change as it’s simple enough to use.

I don’t mind the Nvidia Control Panel.

I’m not in there often, it’s laid out fine, and it’s functional. I don’t need a fancy UI for it.

  4. Fotoradar606

I hate the Windows 8, 10 and 11 start menus so much.

Thank god for open shell, 7’s menu was so much better.

  5. NVIDIA fan boys act like they dont think AMD and Intel UI look dope af. It’s truly embarrassing for a multibillion dollar company.

Also if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. AMD may change their UI to be more fancy every couple of years but it’s still the same buggy garbage.

awaiting everyone here talking that the old ui is completly painful for the eyes like opening the panel will instantly implode your eye with gunpowder power

I use an RX570 and I can say that the software works half of the time. That said I do use it for clipping/recording which might be too demanding for it.

  9. Inside_Committee_699

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it

  10. To be fair I find Nvidia control panel to be way easier to navigate than most modern UIs

  11. It does look like ass, but I’ve been dealing with this for the last 10 years, and changing where things are at this point is gonna suck. Relearning where everything is again sucks, not to mention those old tutorials for random fixes going irrelevant once the UI changed also suck.

But in the end of the day, if we want something better, it has to start somewhere i guess.

Reject webdev-inspired GUI development, embrace Win32 and other native toolkits. You can still embed web pages where they are the right tool for the job.

  13. Pandanutiy

Nvidia panel looks like crap, but my gpu doesnt blackscreen/bsod/freeze/crash on a daily basis (had rx5700 for 2 years), so yeah, i would rather have an ugly ui

  14. DlphLndgrn

Don’t fix what isn’t broke. We know where things are, they work, it doesn’t require a login, there aren’t tailored ads in the software.

  15. Oberfeldflamer

Does the control panel still require you to install another tool to set some basic settings because its lacking it? Like FPS limits or fan curves?

  16. I hate anything that I cant get to use my Qt theme

  17. Grouchy_Advantage739

I couldn’t care less about the control panel. I use it like once every 2 months and never see it again after. I will say though that it is genuinely laggy af to use and its pretty silly that nvidia doesn’t have performance monitoring built in like AMD does.

  18. l_______I

loving that old GeForce in HDCP options menu

  19. ikschbloda270

It’d take an intern two days to at least modernize the images being used. That 7900GT connected to a CRT holy shit…

  20. skdKitsune

The only bad thing about the control panel UI is the lag. The layout and design is literally perfect.
    And it’s light weight

  21. Don’t mind the UI too much, would be nice if it was better but whatever. It’s how fucking slow it loads is what annoys me

  22. Fritzschmied

i wouldnt say that one of the uis on the left is modern. they are all way too overloaded and with gaming aesthetics. i would say a better example for a modern UI is for example the Windows settings or Logi options plus.

  23. MilkyCowTits420

You kids are spoiled with your fancy UIs, you’re lucky you’re not having to go in and change .ini files and fuck with your bios to make your shit work.

  24. Novideo control panel is hideous and frankly embarrassing

You can have modern and minimalistic at the same time look at sapphire trixx
