As the title of the post says, I was putting the glass panel back on my Thermaltake H18 case and it just shattered in my hands. I didn’t even drop it. The glass exploded outward and I spent the next hour cleaning up glass shards around my apartment. Not my lucky day.

im just waiting for this to happen to me. In my case the CPU heatsink is touching the glass talk about dimension issues lol

  2. You guys over doing the screw or something? I’ve taken my panel on and off so many times to no explosion lmao.

Am I the only one that works on their PC on my bed? I seriously carry it to my bed and work on it there. No hard surfaces

    Nice marble counter top.

All of these posts are why I have an acrylic side panel.

Posts like these are why I won’t buy a case with a glass panel.

hey, on the bright side, you’ll probably see an increase in thermals

You’ve just unlocked a post-apocalyptic skin for your case

Must have just barely touched the counter, all it takes is the right bump. Go back and visit all the glass broken posts, all over tile or stone countertops.

What I don’t get is why the kitchen? I always tinker on my computer on the desk I use for it. Monitor and stuff is already there.

One time I took my PC to my friend’s house and apparently his cat decided to drop kick my PC cause when I woke up the side panel was in pieces on the floor.

Happened to me as well. As I fit the glass onto my case which was upright on the marble stone counter…it shattered while still in protective film. I spent 4 months waiting for corsair to restock the glass panel….and ended up with a snazzy white one for my black chasis lol.

I’m the luckiest man alive because I’ve not been gentle and I haven’t had a glass side panel break yet. Though I need to find some wood to knock on.

Your PC will have excellent air flow now. No more worrying about heat issues if you did before

Looking at the picture, I can see that the gpu cables probably touch the glass panel. I had my side panel crack because of the gpu cables not fitting inside the case. I could be very wrong though

This exact same thing happened to me the other day

Please just put some cardboard down when working on any hard surface. Use the cardboard from the case box or something.

I have a question. Why do they even make these sides out of glass?

Try getting measurements for it and having a custom cut glass panel made by an auto glass shop.

Or just get a different case. Probably the same price either way.

I left my CAUTION TEMPERED GLASS HANDLE WITH CARE, sticker on mine. That might be enough to reinforce it. Along with the plastic film.

At this point anyone who buys this pc case is an idiot.
