Someone has spilt water on it, pretty obvious water damage to the LCD

Water damage, either you know exactly what happened or someone else does and didn’t say shit.

Its done for, you best bet is to open it up, look at the back of the panel and get the model number. Then order a replacement from aliexpress
Nitazene-King-002
Yup, liquid damage.
You can replace the panel, it’s a fairly difficult job on many laptops that you might wanna have a pro do if you’re not handy.

From what I can see the damage has only occurred to the backlight, which is *technically* replaceable compared to damage to individual pixels. I think if OP has some experience soldering they have a fair chance of replacing just the backlight and saving the screen.

Did you leave the bottle of watter thats just outside of the frame ontop of your laptop?
Condensation might have formed a pool of water that seeped into the screen through the sides of the bezzle.

I coomed in ur screen hehe

Someone spilled water on it and it entered the screen. Or you forgot the window open and it somehow rained on it.
In either case it’s water damage. Depending on how it was, it may have entered inside the notebook base too, in which case it will corrode the components in it and stop working. By the time it stops working, you’re out of luck. Get it checked out *now*. The sooner, the better.
The screen itself will likely not worsen, as the electronics are on the bottom of the screen, not on the top. It will likely continue like this, until you get a new panel. If you’re lucky and it’s pure water, it might dry over time and get “better”, but the chance of it going away 100% is slim.
There is a way to get it clean, to some degree, without getting a new panel, but the hassle is usually not worth it: It’s possible to disassemble the panel itself and get the trapped water out, although this requires technical skills. There are 4 or 5 layers of thin plastic sheets inside, and if water gets in between them, it’ll look like this. So if you wipe them down and assemble it back, the smudges will be gone. However, the panel itself is not really meant to be disassembled, so there’s a chance of messing it up. Like I said, the hassle’s probably not worth it, *but it is an option*.
Your best and easiest bet would be simply getting a new panel and be done with it.

Water damage. Odds are, you’re fucked and you need a new panel, BUT, as someone who’s been in your situation, here’s what you can do to try and at least alleviate it.
Remove the front bezel (the plastic thingy around the screen thingy) and put it upside-down (as-in water damaged part first) into rice, for at the very least a night. Just because this turned into a meme overtime, I feel like I have to clarify that this is not a joke, rice absorbs moisture damn well which is what the meme came from.

Go fool someone else, the waterbottle’s shadow is even showing. Besides you have had to have tried to properly dry it before switching it on, otherwise you’d notice the water.
