Not sure if goty but I just bought the game and the full path tracing mode is probably the most next gen feature I’ve seen since metro2033. It makes such a difference.

It’s a good game, but little more than that. It’s still full of bugs, a lot of mechanics that really should be working by now either aren’t or are at a much lower standard than they should be years into its life. Improving to 80% of what it should be is still 80% of what it should be, regardless of whether it started there, or started out worse.

Definitely not. No real repayable value. I’ve done everything there is to do in the game. Only about 170 hours. Never could have gotten goty. Not to mention it’s lack of any type of co op or multi-player. The story wasn’t gripping enough either. Don’t get me wrong I love the shitnout of this game but it’s never gonna be good enough for that. They dropped the ball when they removed all of the e3 original gameplay footage features

I think it should (if it were release this year) win for one reason: It is far more accessible to the average player than Baldur’s Gate 3 thus meaning it’d be vastly more popular.
Is BG3 great? Of course. But, the average player is more likely to pick up something like Cyberpunk than BG3 while hardcore players would pick up both.
A big selling point for BG3 is the cinematics and choices you can make which Cyberpunk has. Hell, the interactions in Cyberpunk are damn scary with how close they were able to recreate real human interaction and behavior: mannerisms, speech pattern, personality, etc… It’s the same reason Dragon Age: Origins was popular as well; it set about making a compelling enough story with good cinematics that gave life to the game.
Now, BG3, imho, would still win because of the fact it is a huge outlier. That’s what has created so much buzz initially, and then upon viewing what the game is about, people can get into thanks to the cinematics.

Thing is, I can’t imagine 2077 launching in the far superior state it’s in now three years later. Regardless of the fact it’s still got progression breaking bugs, it only got to 2.0 by learning from and overcompensating for the failures of its launch, back when someone at CDPR really thought the Commando perk would ever be useful.
