I used the Ray Gun for the 2nd time today after unlocking it (thanks 48 hour cooldown).

I got it to PaP 3 quickly as i had crystals. I wanted to spend a full game in T3 seeing how it performs. I just cant believe how weak and pointless this gun is in its current state. I grinded over 30 hours for this thing and it barely hurts the Mega yet the Jugg suit, which takes 5 minutes to pick up in T3 melts it in 5-10 seconds.

As it stands the only fun for the Ray Gun is to go i to T2 as it does work there but its a waste of time in T3.

It’s designed more for zombies than bosses because it’s good in t3

I’m hoping they add the other ray guns

beecause even in the older games after Bo2 its a mid tier WW

the ray gun has had it’s up and downs through zombies.

waw – bo1: it was good

    bo2 – bo3: it was alright

    bo4: straight out garbage

    cold war: god tier

    vanguard and mwz: useless

    Summary:
    Shots 1-5: Clearly missed.
Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control).
Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses.
Shot 12: Likely didn’t actually fire because he was already dead.

Always has been, even in Cold War, the CROSSBOW was better than the Raygun. It was ridiculous.

It’s not bad though, a single pap ray gun will blow up merc reinforcement helicopters in 3 shots, you tested it against a mega abomination, which almost anything but a deadbolt turret will only chip damage until you shoot one of its glowing mouths for the crits. Especially for HVT megas. You can’t reasonably go into that fight expecting it to be like a 10-20 shot kill just shooting it all willy-nilly

Ray Gun gotta be the most inconsistent wonder weapon ever I swear

They didn’t make this to be fun. If they did, they wouldn’t not have added so many restrictions. All this mode serves as is a “we did something” and a camo grind simulator. Once you see it that way, it actually becomes somewhat fun. And before some no life comes in and says “skill issue”, there is nothing skilled about the game mode in the current state. They added a time limit because they know you could stay forever and not die due to their shit balancing. Balancing that hasn’t occurred since the inception of DMZ. 3 zones isn’t enough to transition difficulties, and adding more would be dumb.

edit: DMZombies is FINE, but it sure isn’t complete and isn’t a true zombies mode. You fight less zombies than Cold War. This is the LEAST zombies mode so far. Like any one playing a lot knows the grenade launcher might out shine the raygun, and THAT is fun, but it isn’t Zombies fun.
