Maybe its just stock clearing, but just as possible this “ban” is a paper tiger, and the chinese factories are still being supplied. IMO even if nVidia does stop selling direct to china, at least some of the manufacturers will just bring in the chips via backdoors, e.g. Hong Kong

Interestingly they have also disappeared in Thailand. Biggest store (jib) is completely out of stock and other stores seem to have almost none left as well.

4090s in korea are in limited supply here and prices surged up by 400 -600 bucks due to Chinese buyers snatching them up
