The market was crazy 2 years ago. I am so glad something gave but yeah it’s madness.

You where feeding the scalper situation
Robsteady
Man, and I felt gross paying $800 last year.
K1NGD3X
I paid 1100 for a 3080, but in reality it didnāt cost that much because I sold my 5700xt to some guy for 950. I paid 450 for it 5 months earlier.
backjox
I paid 900 for a 1080 7 years ago, it’s starting slightly degrading this year. Gonna be one hell of an upgrade when it dies.
Ar_phis
Instead of doing what exactly with that money?
Bought the watercooled 3080 in December 2020 for the same money and I was always worried about “having spend too much”.
They peaked at 1800⬠in May 2021. Meanwhile I spend most of the lockdowns with gaming as it was the one thing I was able to do and others still didn’t get any card.
Absolutely worth it in hindsight.
MrPlake
I bought my 3080 for the same price of my 5700 xt new from microcenter $420
generally-speaking
I paid $850 for a 3080 Gaming X Trio the day it was made available for sale..
Year after it was double that.
Kev-Series
Paid 750 for my 3070TI, but I was able to offload my 1080gtx for 450.
Not bad, not great.

2 years ago was a wild time.
sold 1080 for the same price i brought it for years before.
i do often wonder if the evga 1080 is still going
MadduckUK
Wow that’s crazy, you going to do it again the next time there is a run on GPUs?
caseymazur
And here I am with my $250 3070ti because the seller thought it was broken
MarceloWallace
2 years ago I suck it up and bought a laptop with 2060 for $1100 it did good for the games I play
inalcanzable
So glad I held out and just waited for MSRP pricing.

Bro, stop reminding me…
con-man-mobile
I made out like crazy during that time, sold 3 1080tiās for like 400-450 on eBay, crazy part was I got them for free from a friend who gave up on SLI.
Shprotas69
I paid 850⬠for a 6700xt haha, I feel you. A hard lesson to be learnt
EastLimp1693
I paid 1100 for strix 3080ti a year and a half ago

degencoombrain
lol i sent in my 3090 that i paid $2k for warranty 2 weeks ago and they refunded me the whole lot, got myself a 4070 ti for $750 xD. Market sure was insane 2 years ago.
Warm-Current3922
I paid $1800 for my 4090 š also paid $500 for a 13900k and didnāt know the 14900 existed at almost the same price. Sigh
A_Rusty_Coin
In the UK that exact card is still fetching about £550($690).
I’m currently looking for a 3090 waterforce to upgrade from my 1080 evga hybrid.
Kawaii_M4A1-S
I’m still astounded as to how I got a 3080FE at MSRP a week after launch from nvidia’s website, without using any bots!
I almost wasn’t able to get it as well since I switched my billing and shipping info while I was rushing to check out LOL, was definitely nerve racking the whole way till I got the card!
NeighborhoodOracle
I am also deeply unsatisfied with my 3070ti – the NVIDIA 5 series can’t come soon enough..
Think I’ll go 5080 or 5090
Bobsofa
I just bought a 3080 before the craze started. 1100 bucks for 3070 sounds insane, but that time was insane. My card sold for up to 3600⬠during the pandemic (I bought it for 770⬠on release).
_Azu_Raged_
Yeah ha ha ha .. I got a rude awakening when I thought I might be able to sell my PC i just purchased a year and a half ago. Paid like 2300, was thinking of asking like 1500 … Yeah nope. Thats the price for new with about same specs/better
cmt00
In the exact same boatā¦. I had chance to buy a 3080 at MSRP and didnāt pull trigger (I donāt even remember why) I would regret that decision for so long. I bought a 3080 for like $1600 months later because I was building my first pc. I still tell myself it is okay because it has been a fantastic card but manā¦. I was salty and it was my own fault
SparsePizza117
I was the lucky few that got a 3080 TUF OC for $850 at a Micro Center, only waited in line for 30 minutes too.
sifren2
I really needed a lot of vram for a large project for work back in 2021, so I uh⦠bought a 3090 from my local store for their inflated listing price. Looking at the used market I can literally buy 3x 3090 now for what I paid.

Able_News_3095
Yeah I paid £435 for a 2060 2 years ago and just sold it for £80 ⦠know the feeling
NotagoK
I only spent about 850, had a friend in Canada import one for me after he ordered it from Memory Center… definitely overpaid but certainly not as bad as it could have been.
RatAvenue1
Bought my 3060 Ti for $500 and now seeing it go for $330 is heartbreaking lol.
horse3000
Which is why I still have my 1080ti. No way in hell I was upgrading during those times lol
FishHammer
I still regret not selling the RX 580 I paid $120 for on ebay for the $500 it was worth a year later. I’m also very glad I resisted the urge to pay what I knew was double/triple MSRP for any video card during peak scalping.
ldontgeit
Bought evga ftw3 3080 for 1300ā¬, 1 and half year later middle fan broke, sent to RMA, they gave my money back lol

That’s insane. And i thought i got ripped off paying 750 last year. I did get ripped off, because i paid over msrp for my ROG strix card. But damn! Over a grand for a 3070ti is insanity
meekamunz
I paid RRP in the UK for my 3080FE two years ago. I got lucky that scan.co.uk were doing drops and announcing on Discord when there would be a window to buy. Sold my 2060 Super at a fair price (I forget what, but all my friends told me I should have got double or triple – I didn’t want to add to the inflated prices of GPUs).
Slagenthor
$960 for a 3060 about 2 years ago. I hate myself for it.
RushTfe
I was lucky enough to buy my 3080 on release date for around 640ā¬.
Month or two later I saw it at +2500 new…
