I was given this REALLY good SP 109 14900K but it came with liquid metal under the IHS and some seaped out in shipping and got onto the underside of the CPU.
I was able to very carefully wipe 99.9999% of it away but it looks like 3 or 4 of the tiny little copper contact plates (where the motherboard pins touch) got stained by the conductonaut? I have brushed and wiped at them for awhile and I cannot get them back to bright copper. See my photos for reference, I tried to zoom in as much as humanly possible.
What can I do? Will it be fine?

This could still be problematic.
The pads are gold, and I suspect the underside of the pad maybe copper. This may cause some strange behaviour with the CPU as the conductonaut can eat away at these metals somewhat.
Further, if liquid metal was applied under the IHS and this thing was shipped; I’d want to see the condition under the IHS to ensure that the liquid metal hasn’t spread.
It would also be nice to know whether nail polish or red RTV was applied to the SMD’s on the CPU pcb to protect components such as transistors.
